Applying to the College Class of 2017 (Starting College in the Fall of 2013)

Has anyone applied to Georgetown?

@maaz97 no I missed the deadlines but got a mail today from them that they extended their deadline till 11th feb so yes I will apply. :D

hey guys,
Is there something we can still do to boost the chances for out ivy apps?
maybe send new recommendation letters? anything else?
grrr. i just want to get accepted somewhere :\ which the financial aid i am asking, and the pathetic ACT scores, i feel terrible. my other components of the application are gooooood. but ACT score is like even below the lower percentage/decile ACT score of the yale (insert top unis name) class of 2016 (profile). so i am damn scared
i know i cant do much, but maybe i can send some stuff that may help them overlook it? any idea?
gaaaah :X

@rew2402 I felt same a week ago but believe me not let to overwhelm this feeling to you. Just forget and enjoy life just like you never applied. lolz i know its a bit weird but expectations always lead you to dissappointment but still don’t leave hope… pray to god and it will work out for sure :D

@rew2402 unless you have recently won a prestigious-ish competition/or recently accomplished something brilliant, resist the urge to send in more stuff.
Just relax, enjoy the rest of your year, spend time with your friends and your family :)

Hi people,
Is no one applying to mcgill, seriously ?

^I got into McGill yesterday. Management and Arts.

^your status changed on minerva ?, mine is still ready for review. If you got an email, what did it say. Do they give you a condition which you have to meet. I’ve applied for mech eng.

Yep. ‘Admitted pending final results.’ The email just signaled my chance in application status on Minerva.

They just say that I have to appear in the A-level exams I’ve been accepted under, and that I am ‘expected to maintain my current level of academic achievement.’

*change
Sorry, on mobile so can’t edit.

Accepted at Carroll University with $18000 financial aid per year. Can’t go though

^congratulations !!

@ Samee24. ‘expected to maintain current level of academic achievement’ is kinda vague, isn’t it ? What happens if you get C’s, any idea ?

And samee24,
When did you apply approximately ?

I got into Mcgill too. Had applied to the faculty of Arts and also Biochemistry; got into both of them. I am not sure if I’ll be going as I did not receive any financial aid or scholarship :(

^Congrats for getting in !!,
yeah McGill doesn’t have that much funding compared to other universities and canadian universities, in general, hardly ever give aid, compared to their american counterparts.
I’ve applied for mech eng. and elec eng. I’ve only applied to canada and mcgill’s my first choice and i applied towards end november i think and i haven’t received a respone and i’m getting tense now :-/

Going for dartmouth & yale and a few other colleges as well!

Hey all.
Did anyone apply for EA2 ?

I got into Northeaster U (definitely NOT attending) And WPI.

@Rew2402,

How much merit or need-based aid did you get from WPI?

Haven’t got their financial aid package yet. But 16K a year (that is, when they give me a full tuition, as per their website) is still a lot of monies. So. Won’t be attending!

Whoever keeps updating this list should add Brown University (Froebels Islamabad) to it :stuck_out_tongue:
And some of you were asking my stats. 2160 SAT I. 1510 SAT II (Math 2 and Physics). 8 As in O levels. 3 As (Econ, math, further math) in AS. And I went to Brown’s 7 week summer program.
