So that’s just 1 acceptance to MIT from the whole country?

Wait-listed from F & M…

She had 9 As in her o-levels, not sure about her number of As among these. 4A’s in As with an Expected A in furthur maths. Her sat 1 score was 2260 I think and her sat 2 score was 1600 (Maths and physics)
I dont know much about her EC’s but she did find the maths society in our school.

@Pakirootistan
Her initials are WA and yes, her admission was well deserved.

All 9 of those O Level As are A*'s, I can confirm that.

*Pakirootsian
srry about that:P

I dont doubt it

@pakirootsian
Are you from BDC too?

So far she’s the only acceptee from Pakistan. Brilliant student. 10 A's in O Levels. 4 A’s in AS. 2260 SAT 1, 2400 SAT 2. She has 6 A Level subjects. All A's expected. Went for ARSSDC to India a few weeks ago and her team won the 2nd position in their category. IMO top 40 shortlist as well. International Kangaroo Math Competition medalist and a lot more!
So yeah, definitely well deserved admission!
She applied to the Ivies as well, so heads up to all the Pakistani hopefuls here! This girl is BRILLIANT!

No, acroyal, we did our O Levels together.

I’m in Roots now, surprise surprise :p

@duresham3
I can be wrong but this girl does not stack up well for the ivies. MIT is less selective than, say Yale or Princeton. Her math related extracurriculars were well received at the MIT adcom. She definitely qualifies academically for the ivies. Congrats to her for the well deserved admission and good luck to her!

Did anyone get an interview call from Harvard at roots?
No one in Lahore got interviewed as far as I know. No interview almost always translates into a rejection!

I do believe you’ve wrongly quoted her academics, duresham. The ones acroyal quoted are more accurate.

No one, Seinfeld, and yes, youre right. No interview is almost always rejection. I know a couple of years ago the KGS headboy got in without an interview but these are sporadic instances. Im certain no one from the other big Islamabad schools got one either, so hopefully its just a case of non availibility of alumni.

PakiRootsian so you went to Islamabad for your A Levels? My brother wants to go to Roots for his A Levels so he’s considering moving to Islamabad for some time.

Jerry she’s still pretty tough competition.
And yeah the Harvard thing is pretty disappointing. Last year, I heard, there were 3-4 interview calls but this year there haven’t been any, or so I have heard.

PakiRootsian, I just talked to her best friend in BDC. She told me all this.

Personally I would look at tuition, weather and the social scene.

Why doesn’t he to a school like LGS JT or ALGC? I’d go to Lahore for my A Levels if I could! I’m only saying that from what I’ve heard of those schools, but they stiill seem like a better option.

Got into Florida Tech with a $20,000 scholarship :)

@duresham3
Send him to Roots. It’s definitely a good choice if he’s considering going abroad for college. Trust me on this one!
LGS, Aitchison, ALGC are very unfriendly to outsiders, they are a bad choice if you havent done your O levels from the school in question.

I’m sure PakiRootsian can vouch for Roots’ friendliness and openness! The above mentioned schools are not!

congrats acroyal! Add your name to the list!

Thanks :)…

Uchicago anyone?!
