Auburn Early Action Class of 2030 Official Thread

FYI - the email goes to housing portal message system not your Auburn email which makes it even more confusing.

Good grief . Hope I can figure it out. Should not really be this complicated.

Which email goes to the housing portal?

Has anyone gotten an honors college invite under their checklist and been deferred? Im ea2.

not really, nice summary.

I would recommend anyone who has a child interested in greek life to go on Facebook, there are Auburn Parents (no kids) for Fraternity and Sorority rush with a ton of info on the process. For boys they usually stay down the weekend before or after War Eagle Camp and/or other weekends in June mainly. But there are also a ton of rush events during move in week.

Don’t want to hijack this thread so feel free to PM me with questions or link to FB group, if yous plans to explore ruching.

I’n mot really sure. Seems like the parent approval email shouldn’t go to the portal…

Hi everyone,

My daughter had her time slot for housing today- and had to leave it to my daughter and husband to figure out. The question I was given by my husband- is…apparently this application has 9 steps, including roommate selection and search?

They paid the deposit and got the through the parent email part of it, but apparently before they could hit ā€œapplication completeā€- they had to sift through numerous other steps that included a lot of information about finding a roommate. My daughter ended up leaving that part blank for now, since I assume she will be finding her roommate through IG as they all do….did anyone else come across this and how did you fill that part out, or did you stop after you paid? Thanks!

the profile selections for roommate matching is optional. some people try to use it, only thing is any message sent to others or to them goes to message area of housing portal not their email, so many don’t realize that and never even see people reaching out to them. completely optional, but only takes a few minutes to get through

I’m not clear on what the person above is saying about the email going to the housing messaging system. My daughter and I just did her registration and it was far easier and more straight forward than I expected. Really not hard at all. You just follow the instructions and it’s pretty quick.

Did you come across the roommate selection section of the application? Did you complete that?

What is the latest out of state acceptance rate? All I can find are test/GPA stats but nothing on acceptance rate OOS. Thank you!

Based on AI estimates factoring in all of the available data (including previous acceptance rates and Auburn receiving over 30,000 applications for EA 1 this year) it would be around 28% for OOS. If the record number of applicants from this years EA1 levels off and ultimately is the same as last year, then it would likely be in the mid 30% range.

I thought the same! We didn’t see anything about roommate selections, and I received a confirmation email that it was completed.

Is that it?

Yep!

Hey there! We are from Pennsylvania and my son is a current junior at Auburn. I agree with coastal2024. My son visited over Memorial Day weekend 2023 (yes there were actually rush parties going on) and then we stayed for a week in June at the Hotel Auburn so he could do rush and then CWE. He received a bid on that second visit, but sometimes it can take up to 3-4 visits. If your son wants to be in one of the bigger fraternities, then doing summer rush (before mid July) is essential. If that doesn’t matter, the there are houses that will also give out the majority of their bids in Aug.

Also, the parties are typically during the weekend and there’s no time to visit during CWE. And the boys can’t wear letters until they are initiated.

How do you find which ones are doing parties over CWE?

The message that assigns your housing application timeslot - the housing portal is a separate tool and they have their own messaging system. I have a sophomore at AU and the most complicated thing we dealt with was the housing process. It is very clunky.

So as not to hijack this thread with fraternity talk I would suggest you check out the FB group ā€œAuburn University Fraternity Recruitment Parent Pageā€ which is for parents only not your sons. There is a ton of info there.

you can also message me and probably others who have stated they have sons there in the Greek system. Just don’t want this to get off track. Hope that helps.
