thank you!

My daughter submitted after the EA2 deadline but still got included in it, and is deferred. She is OOS, has a 3.84 and is applying test optional, which she knows is risky. Some questions:

  1. When is the Zoom for deferred students and where can she learn more about it?

  2. Seems that some who were deferred EA1 were accepted EA2 – does this mean she could be considered for EA 3 or 4?

  3. I have seen a lot of acceptances and defers. Does Auburn outright deny admission in its early rounds? In other words, can one remain hopeful if deferred?

Anyone applying for honors college ??? Those questions were definitely not easy! Anyone know stats or anyone who has gotten in??

OOS 3.96 unweighted 1320, NHS, team captain, many volunteer and leadership activities, top 12%

Thanks! He sent to me to proofread and the questions were …. A lot !!!

He got an email about the zoom session about a week after EA1 decisions were released, the zoom itself was a few days after that. They told us that if any new information was added to the application (updated scores, personal statement, etc) students would be reconsidered for the next round of EA, but that they wouldn’t be rejected in the EA rounds after being deferred and they may not hear anything more until mid-march. I understood that to mean that any news during the EA rounds would be good news. They told us that the same EA deadlines applied (all new info had to be in by 10/15 to be considered for EA2), but it looks like that wasn’t always the case.

They encouraged deferred students to reach out to their advisors with questions or new info, making me wonder if engagement might play a role in deferral decisions, though they did not say that.

Auburn does reject in the EA rounds, but anecdotally I’ve only seen rejections with lower GPAs who were test optional, Auburn really prefers test scores.

Best of luck to you and your student!

War Eagle!

Thank you, Norman. She filed her app on 10/17, and I’m guessing they didn’t consider her first quarter grades, which were a W4.1. She is now regretting not sending in scores, but you can’t change that on the application. Once you click test optional, you are forever test optional. She’s reached out to the admissions officer for our area – hoping he will respond soon.

When do scholarships come out for EA1 accepted students?

Quick questions-How did you submit 1st term grades? Did you submit a PDF of his report card for term 1 via admissions portal? Did you email it directly to your admissions counselor? We had our son’s guidance counselor subbit it via SCOIR last week but I don’t see it marked as received in the admissions portal yet.

He emailed the PDF of his Q1 grades to his admissions counselor. The only upload option was for mid-year grades so he emailed only. He included a question that she replied to so he was sure she saw the message.
