Auburn Early Action Class of 2030 Official Thread

I am REALLY curious about the application numbers for EA 1 as they compare to previous years. Considering our kids are the first of the “demographic cliff” I am wondering if the numbers of applicants will change or not. I am assuming not since I think kids still apply to all the same schools and especially the southern schools seem to have exploded in popularity. I am just really anxious about this admissions cycle for Auburn in particular since it gets more difficult every year and though I feel like D26 “should” eventually be admitted, one just never knows. She did tell me she is expecting a deferral but still “just wants to know”. I am also curious what Auburn will ask the students to send if they are deferred. She will absolutely NOT take the ACT again, that ship sailed long ago.

Auburn has my son’s ACT superscore from previous tests (so I think he is still good to go for the EA1 round), but he retook the ACT one last time is Sept and we had the score sent. The Sept scores are still not showing up in his portal. Has anyone’s Sept ACT score shown up in the portal?

Also, I know that they recalcalte the GPA and post it to the portal as time get close…anyone’s recalculated GPA been posted on the portal yet?

No recalculations here yet. Refreshed like a lunatic but nothing.

Same. I thought it was interesting they let my son be EA1 when they received his sat two days late -wonder if that means the numbers aren’t as big ? That’s the feeling I got from them anyway…

I hate that I am so tied up in knots about this. I was not like this with S24 but that’s because he had already heard from (at the time) his top choice so there was zero worry about any of his other schools. Auburn is very much D26 top school right now and I will feel so sad for her if she gets deferred. I know a deferral is not a NO, but it will for sure make her so stressed moving forward

I don’t see anything either. Would that be in the “applicant file details”?

For anyone iterested in marching band - Auburn will have another fantastic half-time illuminated show for the UGA game this weekend. I won’t make this game but hope to see it on YouTube when I return.

Do you know if they posted the recalculated GPA in this new portal layout? Looks different than a few years ago.

Yes, from what I have read in years past, it will be posted under applicant file details in the same row as the mailing address.

We also recvd that email. We uploaded resume and then they asked for the activities list. My daughter has a 34 composite and a 4.0/4.46 GPA. I can’t imagine they sent that for deferment. I’m guessing it’s easier for the AOs to read in a common app ‘ format’. We were also invited to VIT.

Same for us… hope this is not a negative sign!

Has anyone heard confirmation that EA1 will come out on Friday?

have not heard. Does Auburn typically announce in advance, similar to UGA week-of? As for the GPA portal astrology - still not showing in D26’s portal. She did, however, receive an email from the engineering school inviting her to a special program at War Eagle Day next Monday. I find it hard to believe they would be inviting students to things if the acceptance wasn’t pending an “official release” but who knows?

GPA portal astrology :joy: … last year the GPA updated two days before EA1 decisions were released so I suspect tomorrow may not be the day. Hopefully that’s not the case.

Hopefully as the last two years it fell the second Friday in October at 6 pm ET which would be tomorrow. Last year was 10/11, 2024 was 10/13. They are currently on Fall Break (today and tomorrow).

Is it me or is everyone invited to War Eagle day that applies??

Not sure if things have changed, but my son who applied in Fall 22 did not get invited. He just missed the cutoff for EA1, deferred with EA2, and wasn’t accepted until March 23. He just squeaked in, now a junior and loves it.

Hard to know- a couple years ago it was definitely for kids who had ACT scores that put them in the running for scholarships (29 and above) and then the VIT was for the high stats scores like the 33-36 range. Mine is unable to go to the WED on Monday and just got an email they “added a new date” for 11/7. She still can’t go but interesting they added another one.

My son got the WED invite and we plan to attend on Monday (if he gets good news tomorrow). He has a 3.9GPA(w) and 31 ACT. Not sure if that helps.

Oh man, I have been checking my son’s portal nonstop to see if his GPA populates. Oh well, maybe I can focus on something else now
