Thanks for everyone’s comments. It helps a little to know we are not the only ones with a kid showing little interest in the process.
@itllallworkout - I laughed a little at your post about your son’s “internal criteria” that he does not articulate. This sounds so much like my son! 
We had to make him go on tours because he also thought all campuses were the same.
I do think the lack of interest is partly because my son really seems to be enjoying his senior year and is spending much more time with his friends. He is also busy with a full course load at school, extracirricular activies, and he works 18 hr/week. And the essays…don’t get me started!
We did sign up to do a VIT tour but not until late March. It may be irrelevant at that point since he may have already decided where he’s going by then. I guess we’ll see.

Does anyone know when the EA3 decisions will be announced?

Per the Admissions website 
Auburn will release freshman decisions in rounds. Early Action Decision rounds will be released in mid-October, mid-November, mid-December and early February. The final regular decision will be released in early March.

Thank you for your response… Yeah, I was just wondering if anyone had heard anything more definitive about the EA3 release date as we now enter mid-December.
S24 was Accepted EA1 on Oct 13th at 700pm. So maybe this Friday after Admissions closes.

We are awaiting also and when I called they said Friday 12/15 but nothing is set in stone

If you get deferred do you automatically go to regular decision timeline? Or can you get admitted in another EA round?

To those who were admitted EA1 or EA2, was there any advanced notice given before the decisions were published?

Nope. Started checking portal Sept 15th based on our Recruiters “info” she got.
None. S24 had actually checked his portal in the afternoon (10/13) and saw nothing. No email or anything. Then randomly checked at 11 pm and had been admitted. An email had been sent right at the same time as the portal update which I think was 7pm ET but he did not see the email.
