Actually it was under “My Applications”.
Aw thank you! My kid got denied at UGA, so we are trying to find a new school to call home.
UGA getting tougher every year. My son got into UGA, clemson and Auburn. Chose Auburn. Just where he felt comfortable in the end probably. Good luck. If I can be of any help please let me know. War Eagle!
Hi BHCF - would you mind sharing info on first year housing at Auburn?
Thank you for the information. I just found it. I was in AuAccess looking for it instead of AUSOM. I can’t wait to share with him later today. He had just gotten a 32 on the ACT in October and we were excited and hoping that he would get $15,000. He took the ACT again this month and hopefully he made a 33 or better. Thankful for a scholarship regardless though.
OOS Son, got in for professional flight, can anyone share info on how this housing process works? I know it is not guaranteed, so how do you go about applying to ensure you can live on campus? Thanks in advance for any info.
Housing is a bit of a crunch at Auburn as it is many other schools down south which have seen an influx of interest and students.
First thing is get that housing deposit in as soon as it is an option.
If you think your kid has a chance to be admitted to the honors college, apply. Getting in the honors college makes housing a lot easier (note: if your kid gets accepted to HC, you have to accept the invitation I think before March or you they wont be eligible for honors housing.
A decent % of freshman live off campus. It sounds crazy for some OOS, but it is not that big of a deal in the end if you are proactive and get housing close to campus (some are closer than the dorms depending on major/classes.
Don’t get too crazy with student matching and finding roommates. If you are not picking a dorm in day 1 or 2, it probably is a moot point anyway and you will just be get a bed in a dorm.
They had a residential life program for out of state students that also can help with securing campus housing. something to look into if you definitely want your kid on campus.
My son was in the Village Honors Housing and it was ideal. A little more money though. Many like the quad for the location and freshman experience but my son wanted his own room so it was the Village, South Donahue or off campus dorms like College, Ross and now Union (which are very close to campus and in and around downtown) for him. 191 College is pretty popular for those looking to try and get a group together and was available after day 2 last year.
Summary: get in deposits right away, stay on top of housing emails (sent to kids auburn email), look in to Honors College and Residential Life programs as it makes housing easier, don’t panic off campus as many freshman do opt for that (there are some advantages like full access during breaks). Hope that makes sense and helps a bit.
Does anyone know if merit is awarded right away or do we have to wait ?
How do you get the deposit in? Or do we have to wait until they ask for that?
My son was admitted in Nov (EA2) and he didn’t get Heritage Scholarship merit award until yesterday, Dec. 15, so for him, it was sent a month later.
Through Auburn Univ. email, your kid will get information about housing and a date/time when he/she can register. On that date/time, you go on, fill out the forms, and submit the housing deposit–irrespective of whether he/she has committed to the university.
Was merit scholarship email sent to Auburn email or their personal one?
once accepted you need to get your child in the habit of checking Auburn email everyday. trust me
Auburn email only
My daughter was accepted EA1 - she has several friends with similar stats who were deferred in EA2 and EA3. Does anyone know what % of kids who are deferred eventually are accepted?
I don’t think they post that but my son got deferred in EA1, updated his SAT by 100 points and got in in EA3 .
What was the new SAT score?
- I did forget to add that I saw someone post here that they were rejected initially last year and then in March received got accepted without doing anything. I’m thinking a lot of deferred will get ultimately accepted but I don’t have any other facts. See if you can scroll up to find that other post.
Any thoughts on when the housing link might arrive in the Auburn email?
It will be the auburn email and password that’s was set up with info from admittance letter.
