If you applied TO with a high gpa but we’re deferred, what’s the SAT threshold you should consider sending scores?
Unfortunately once a deferral has been given to a TO applicant, test scores will not be accepted in your admission decision.
We went last summer, so campus was rather empty. But it was a great visit. We drove from Atlanta, so totally worth the trip for us. You are paired with an admissions counselor who drives you around campus on a golf cart to different meetings or tours (that your student pre-selects.) We had already had a general campus tour, so skipped that. We had two appointments at the engineering school: one with a student who toured us through two of the engineering buildings (ones in line with my student’s interest,) and also a meeting with an engineering counselor who went over his likely schedule and also gave feedback about his intended senior year classes. We toured two different dorms and saw two different style accommodations. We ate lunch at a dining hall and were joined by a second admissions officer. We had a meeting with a student and a counselor in the Honor College. We also got to tour the gym. It was a really thorough tour and we got chances to ask questions of many different people.
What is this type of tour called?
S24 needs to do something like this- he is going end of January and already toured and had a chance to meet with someone from his major, but would really benefit from seeing more of the school- dorms, a chance to sit in on a class, etc. Who did you go through to arrange this?
we would love to do this too
Have any deferred kids gotten in this year within a different EA batch release?
Yes, my son did.
Did you submit anything else after being deferred?
Did he submit test scores with his app?
And curious if he was with the next EA release or just separately.
Trying to figure if my D24 will know before March.
Yes, updated SAT scores and optional essays
There was a conversation regarding auto-merit scholarships a month ago. We received the snail mail version of the award letter yesterday with same info.
What I have gathered so far from the previous posts is that ACT- 35,36= $17,000
ACT- 33,34 = $15,000 and ACT 31,32 = $11,000 (starting to notify students later)
Can anyone confirm if this has been the case for them? For OOS only merit awards
I know of someone who received a 35 but was only awarded $15K. This would lead me to believe that there are other factors being considered. But I may be wrong.
Confirming 36 => 17k.
If deferred, does student’s app get bumped to the next round or popped directly to the RD bucket of apps?
It is called VIT… Very impressive Tiger. My student received an invitation last summer after they received his test scores. It was arranged by the admissions dept.
OOS, 35 ACT, letter came yesterday confirming $17k
