Auburn University Early Action for Fall 2024 Admission

Can merit be based on GPA as well? 29 ACT, so not sure that will qualify on its own. GPA W was 5.2/5.0

Auburn bases merit on test scores alone, assuming a minimum 3.5 GPA

What does 33 equal scolarship wise. Also is this only for in state or OOS as well?

I think an earlier answer said 33 = $15,000

29 ACT qualifies for the 3rd level scholarship which they have not given out yet from what I have read - we are in that same category and hoping they will!

Such a silly question but how do you check your Auburn email on the portal? She set up her account but does not have an ā€œauburnā€ email account it doesn’t look like. Thanks so much

Yes same with my daughter. Where do go to get auburn email?

Log into Auburn Acess and email can be checked under Sudents

Hi, just wondering, my daughter was told not to submit her supplemental essay right away to take time and send it in December - uuuggghh!! Regretting that. Wish I found these forums earlier. You had mentioned ā€œsupplemental essaysā€ and my daughter only saw 1 - is there another? Thank you!

Who told her this?

Is this just for admission into Auburn? They do not require or even look at essays.
(You would need to submit essays for Honors College and for some AUSOM scholarships - but not to qualify for merit).

I’m wondering if she is talking about that 150 word supplemental for deferred students they mention on the page if you are deferred? You can tell them why Auburn and what you hope to study while you are there.

Yes the optional supplemental essay you can write if you are deferred.

I just want to make sure that I’m clear on the housing procedure… So once the students are accepted, they must activate their Auburn email… they will then be sent an email a few weeks later apprising them of their housing application time slot… they then log in during their housing application time-slot, pay the $100 fee and apply for housing. They are then notified in mid March of their room selection time slot. During that time slot they pay the $250 admissions enrollment deposit and choose their room… is this correct?

Yes! But be sure to pay the $250 enrollment deposit before their room selection time slot. It has to be posted to their account before choosing a room, and that takes a couple days. So just to be on the safe side, I’d pay it at a week before and make sure it’s marked as ā€œreceivedā€.

If you haven’t seen it already, the housing website does a good job of detailing the steps.

Thank you!

Unfortunately, I think you cannot go by what Auburn posted on its website. Looks like they made adjustments on OOS merit with 31-32 ACT being the possible cutoff and those students only getting $11,00.00 instead of the $15,000.00, which was listed on the website.

unfortunately their website is not correct (which they still haven’t bothered to change). They are reducing all of the awards and those with 32 ACT only got $11,000. Perhaps the lower level will get something, but I honestly would doubt it. This whole experience is going to result in applicants next year not feeling any confidence about merit aid based on the bait and switch they pulled this year.
