I can confirm that OOS with a 32 ACT and weighted GPA in the mid 4s only got $11,000.00, not $15,000.00.
Confirmed OOS 33 received $15k
I was pretty sure there was a bump between 32 and 33 in dollars. Did they get rid of the $17,000 scholarship for OOS students? Does anyone have any information on this? In my opinion, the way they have handled this has been total bush league. Why does the website still show the numbers that no longer apply? It makes me wonder what type of university it is if they cannot rectify something so simple. show.
exactly. They updated that website in September too, and by October they were already backtracking. And they havenât edited it at all despite not giving out the amounts they list on the website. So, itâs either incompetence or they are intentionally misleading people to get more applications. Itâs really leaving us with a bad impression and this was one of my sonâs top 2-3 schools.
As of now, a 32 = $11,000 and a 33 = $15,000. I think $17,000 may have only gone to 36s
I am glad others see it the same way. This was initially our studentâs third choice and now it is like number seven. We do not agree with the way this was handled at all. Our student has received merit from various schools and none for them have done what Auburn has done. The website says it was updated on 10/23/23. So did they not know at that point the credentials of applicants where higher? We know for sure they do now two months later; however, the incorrect information is still posted on the site.
Confirmed OOS 30 ACT received ZERO
Gosh. Thatâs terrible. Iâm sorry to hear thatâŠ
As a parent of back to back applicants (D23 and D24), I am also giving Auburn a major side eye by how theyâre handling this scholarship issue. D23 expected, and was awarded, exactly what the website said so D24 went in expecting to be treated the same. Other schools are offering D24 merit and were transparent about it and those schools have risen to her top (for other reasons as well.) Auburn is acting like a high school kid who got a glow up over the summer and comes back the next school year and ignores their old friends to hang out with the cheerleaders. No one likes that.
$17,000 for 35,36 ACT. My son is OOS and scored a 35 - - got the $17,000 offer. He took the test 3 times and improved each. Also, he took a lot of test prep classes that people were telling me were a waste of money. Glad it paid off for him, Auburn was his favorite school of 8 we visited and heâll be attending fall 2024, WDE
There were two to reply to for my son. Both had 250 words or less. Our college advisor told us not to submit anything until January until the midterm grades. We ignored her recommendation and submitted the updated SAT scores and the supplementary essays. After scores were submitted, my son called Auburn to make sure they had them etc.
Interesting, my daughter was deferred but we are are only seeing one optional essay that is 150 words or less. Do you mind me asking where your son saw 2 optional essays at 250 words? My daughter also retook the SAT and college board sent her new scores weeks ago but theyâre still not reflected. Thank you for responding!
My student got the letter confirming $17,000. 35 ACT.
yes OOS 31 11,000
I know Auburn doesnât have enough housing. When would you find out youâre on a standby list? When you apply or during room selection?
Best. Analogy. Ever.
Applying essentially just gets you in line for housing. The earlier you apply, the earlier you get to select a room. There are other factors like honors housing, RLC housing, finding a roommate with an earlier time slot that help when you select your room. But when you select in the Spring, if there are no rooms available, you will be placed on the waitlist then.
Has anyone been awarded the Charter scholarship yet? That is for ACT of 30.
Not yet
I think that round may be in February from what it sounded like from the office of University Scholarships. They said the levels underneath Presidential would be awarded in Dec. and February, so maybe there is still a chance since it seems that Presidential was Oct. Heritage was Dec?
Does anyone have a good guess as to when freshman move in might be?
