great! My son is in it too!
Does he know about the Auburn University Bass Fishing Club? They have an Instagram page he can follow and get more info.
If he is wearing a hat, that is more than my son wore at this time and again he loves it. There is a bass fishing club. There is also a fraternity that does a ton of fishing and hunting that has a large physical house but keeps a smaller number of brothers and are known to be very tight. My son is in a house that has a few very good golfers. He can wait and explore rush during move in if he has some interest.
There are a ton of clubs to join around majors, religious orgs and charitable/volunteer groups as well.
Any questions Iād be happy to try and answer.
Have three browsers ready.
One with the room he is in.
One with the profiles.
And one searching for other rooms.
Drop room, join room, check roommates.
Can you lose the room. Yes but if you are quick it is harder to lose.
Can you tell me which one this is?
Iāll send you a message.
iād love to know too. My son is a fly fisher
Does anyone have a daughter with an early housing time slot looking for a roommate? Pls send me a message! Thank you
We just got a housing time slot for 3/15. Us that good?
3/15? Housing does not open until 3/20. There are about 20 ātestā slots on 3/19
I received a housing application timeslot for 3/15 at 10am which Iām trying to figure out what it means. We were just admitted a week or so ago via RD
I think that just means that is the day you can sign into the portal to apply for housing. Starting 3/19, time slots are for room selection.
oh, ok, got it
Ah ok makes sense.
My husband and I finally got to have an impromptu, unforced discussion about colleges with our son last night. After talking it over, it became clear that Auburn is the best place for him! I am so excited and nervous. Unfortunately, Auburn is the biggest reach financially, but we feel very strongly about it, so weāll do what it takes to make it work. It feels good to have some resolution to the issue. We are headed to VIT next week. Although heās already made a decision, Iām still looking forward to him seeing campus again and getting a chance to meet with advisors, etc.
WAR EAGLE
Super exciting. I hear the VIT visits are great. S24 already committed and went for a second look before the Talons Day and VIT invites arrived so he did not experience either, but from the pics it looks like a real fun time. He got his dorm and roommate all squared away yesterday so it is really starting to feel real. We are thrilled he has picked Auburn. If you are on Facebook, the āAuburn University Parentsā group is a great resource. If he is planning on rushing, the āAuburn University Fraternity Recruitment 2024 parentsā is super helpful. Have the best visit and War Eagle!
Buzz is beds are full⦠have no idea how to figure out off campus housing and if like most college towns those apartments started leasing operations (applications etcā¦) last fall with commitments in Jan/Feb⦠As much as she likes Auburn pitching a tent in the woods isnāt really an option. And Iām not crazy about her living far off campus and having to drive every day (or take a bus if they have transportation) and missing out on a big part of the college experience.
Add that to the financial considerations. She received a small scholarship with EA decision and went through the whole process to apply for more but, no idea when those will be announced but it is a differentiatorā¦
AU is arguably DDās first choice but as a parent the various administrative shenanigans and frustration have me quite soured to paying OOS tuition. At least if the various timing disconnects and lack of compassion for students trying to handle a challenging time is any indication of the overall culture of the school.
how come thereās not enuf dorm space???
Auburn does not guarantee on campus housing, similar to many of the southern schools s24 was admitted to. Makes for some stress but at least there is plenty of off campus housing in Auburn that is safe and affordable. Not so much in some of the other towns/cities that he considered.
My sonās time slot is Monday morning. I have felt good about his chances of getting on campus housing until now. I really donāt want to have to try to figure out off campus housing.
