Auburn University Early Action for Fall 2025 Admission

They ended up at one of the off campus apartments that was University Housing. This year that’s The Union, 160 Ross and 191 College. 160 Ross will not be University Housing next year. It was totally fine.

Let me say that it seems far easier to get a bed ‘on campus’ the fewer roommates there are. A group of 3-4 makes it harder even on day 1 or 2 of housing selection. The addition of the Union seems to have helped some this year. It appears common that students will invest time and energy into finding roommate groups only to find the only way they can select the dorm or room type desired is to break the group and go in as a single or pair. Having Plan A, Plan B and Plan C is a good idea.

Found it…question - if you log in at 11/12 at 2 pm is that just to pay the housing fee and get into the queue for the March room selection? He’s in school and I’ll have to do it for him. Is the Day 1, 2 etc… that people mention the November or March days?

I was referring to housing selection days in March when they actually pick bed space.

I’d your kid was accepted EA1 and you submit deposit and enter housing lottery in time you will most likely be one of the first 3-4 days. Your kid will most likely get a dorm room. I would say definitely but nothing is definite. But they will get a dorm room just might not be the one they want the later in the week they are and with random freshman.

Look into the honors college if applicable or the out of state program they have for students further away from campus. Both will make it a bit easier id accepted. There are more dorm rooms this year. So I would say an ea1 accept will get on campus.

Again my son if he didn’t get the village would have definitely preferred to live off campus freshman year as long as it was in walking distance of campus. And joining Greek life or a religious group or some other group helps with the social aspect no matter where they end up living.

In summary an EA1 accept can expect to get a dorm room just maybe not where they want or with who they want. So have to measure what is more important to them. Off campus they can keep a group together. Hope that makes sense.

The days to pick your room are in the spring.

November is to enter that lottery.

you should ask your admissions advisor about it.

last year they changed the merit scholarships after EA1. It was very upsetting. DS was supposed to get $15K a year based on the chart and instead they lowered it to $11K. It looks like they updated the chart for this year with the lowered amounts so hopefully they won’t do that again.

So back to main topic of Fall 2025 admissions - when do we think next round of decisions come out?

Mid November

DS just received a postcard from Auburn Harbert College of Business saying welcome to our family, and congratulations ! I guess that is the ‘official’ mailed in acceptance!

Congrats!

(On a side note…my (sophomore) daughter has an IB diploma, and while it made for a very intensive senior year, I am still amazed how well the program prepared her for college. Her transition has been seamless, and even the toughest courses so far are only slightly challenging to her. It’s definitely not for everyone, but for those who take it on, I really believe it is worth it.)

I am so glad to read this, thank you! S25 is in the middle of his senior year with the IB diploma, and it has been intense: practice IA papers, his community activities and service actions and reflections, and the whole extended essay research paper…phew! And yet as he’s going through it, I keep feeling like this is really good preparation for college, having to juggle deadlines and giving time for bigger projects.

You’re right, it’s not for everyone, but it is nice to hear you are seeing the rewards for all the energy that goes into it.

Thank you! IB is definitely a grind. I spend most of time just sitting at home studying and writing, but I won’t go and say that it hasn’t helped at all. Even my brother, who also took IB says that college is a step-down from how intensive the program was. I’m just so ready to be done with the program!

I wish him the best! We are all IB survivors… surviving those IAs, college apps, the EE, the CAS, and much more.

Yes, agreed - as the mother of an IB student and Auburn aero eng undergrad and mech eng graduate degree - college is way less strenuous than IB. Mainly because you manage your own time- IB is so demanding and none of the non-IB teachers (especially band) give a hoot about your academic success. I to this day do not think it was worth it but my son takes pride in the IB diploma and National AP scholar certificate.

Some students/parents here posted that they received acceptance last week? Are they accepting students and notifying them as they are going through applications?
My daughter is anxiously waiting and Auburn is her #1 choice. She has been accepted to Option#3 already. Waiting for Auburn and #2.

Anyone know when EA1 kids will get merit info?

Here are Auburn’s deadlines and notification dates for 2025-26:
