Auburn University Early Action for Fall 2025 Admission

Accepted last night, OOS, engineering, 4.01W, not sure about UW, no test scores reported, great course rigor and ECs (lots of leadership, Eagle Scout, NJROTC senior roles), probably a good essay and recs but obviously not sure about that.

Accepted last night after being deferred from EA1:
OOS, Psychology
3.7uw
School doesn’t rank
1300 SAT (but updated their score in December after taking the test again)
Good rigor, significant ECs (volunteer work, dance, NHS, etc.)
Good essay and likely good recs
Good luck to all!

Congrats! Did you get an email or was it in your portal?

They sent an email and then it showed up in the portal - the way they announce is really cute actually

Had she submitted mid-year grades?

What is your major and were you admitted?

Admitted.

My son had a rough Fall semester and received lower than expected grades in two AP courses (Calculus and AP English 4). Must he submit his mid-year transcript to stay in consideration for admission?

Reach out to an AO and ask.

Their website says: You have the opportunity to enhance your application
by submitting an updated high school transcript and/or new test scores for further evaluation.

To me that says no but - not submitting may send a message too.

What grade is lower than expected? Is it a B or higher? If so send.

This was for deferred btw. Was your student deferred?

Thank you! Yes, he was deferred during EA1 and not heard a peep since. The scores were bad. 71 and 70. He missed some school and didn’t make up grades - it was a mess. But he is a smart kid and but for this blip, think he would have had a terrific shot. Think he’ll just leave it alone and hope for the best.

You can do that.

I assume you have others in the bag already. Auburn is a fine school - but there’s many fine schools - Ms State doesn’t have the immediate surrounding town but is somewhat similar. Arkansas is slightly bigger town wise but is similar. And there are plenty of others.

You just need one place to land.

Good luck.

I agree. Let it go for now. If admitted, he will obviously need to submit a final transcript and any significant drops will need to be explained. Encourage him to work hard 2nd semester to negate that drop and then it will be far easier to explain to a school that has already accepted him.

Thank you, and yes! He is accepted to Texas A&M and OU and loves them both. So he will land in a great spot no matter what. Just wanted him to have as many options as possible and was super upset with his situation last semester. But in the end, he’ll be ok. Just a bummer to screw up so badly so close to the finish line.

OU is really nice!! A&M is big  He’s got great admits already. Look at it this way - too much choice = hard to pick so if Auburn doesn’t happen (and it might), it’s easier at the end

Best of luck.

That is fantastic on both OU and TAMU. We are in a similar boat with fall grades. @Georgiamomof2 confirmed above they were recently admitted to Auburn after deferral without submitting mid-year grades. I think definitely lay low and hope for the best. We also have OU as an option and are excited about it.
