I did not get anything posted yet for scolarships.
She applied ED so perhaps that group was the first to be notified. Hopefully you will hear something soon!
That makes sense. I did EA
Was it in her application portal or did she have to check BearWeb?
I assume EA will be next week. Things are just a bit later this time than they have been in prior years.
It was in the portal. When we logged onto Bear web saw a little bit more detail about finances.
So the more generous end of the merit spectrum will still leave quite a bit of family contribution if you are not getting financial aid.
Amazing! Just checked his portal, no word here.
Same. Our merit still indicates âUnder review.â
Got in! I received the email Friday and am SO happy! Praise the Lord! I was also notified of my merit money - $16K so am looking into other scholarships to help out family. SO thankful!
Iâd be interested in hearing anyoneâs thoughts on the parent programming for I2E⊠if there were any sessions that were particularly good or not. And thoughts on the Friday reception.
I thought the weekend was very well planned out and enjoyed all the programming I went to. The opening talk was lighthearted and set the tone. Some laughed, some cried :). I went to the engineering and computer science talk, the orientation and line camp talk and the academic success talk and got great information from all. Wear good shoes on Saturday. The shuttles were backed up so I walked, which was at most 10 minutes to get to where you needed to be. Friday night was just networking.
I also thought the weekend was great! For parent sessions, I went to the Honors College, Campus Living and Learning and Financial Aid and also got great information from all of the sessions. Overall, the weekend was impressive and we are glad we went!
Do you mind sharing what clothes most were wearing? My daughterâs admissions counselor told us it would be Business Professional but the latest guidance says Business casual for Friday and Casual for Saturday. She is struggling with dressing it down but worried about being too casual.
There was a pretty big range of attire. I would say you are safe with business casual for Friday evening and casual for Saturday. On Saturday, my daughter wore black pants and a nice blouse but we saw jeans and sweatshirts as well. Friday was definitely a more fancy event so people dressed up a little more for that. We saw young men wearing ties and jackets, which seemed like a little bit much for business casual. Most girls were wearing nice pants with a nice blouse or sweater as it was a little cooler last weekend.
Honestly, I donât think they will care what you are wearing. Saturday should be comfortable shoes. There was lots of walking.
Son applied RD on Dec 23. Accepted on Jan 24th. Was surprised to get an answer so fast - completely unexpected for a regular decision applicant.
3.7 GPA, 1300 SAT. 2 sport varsity athlete.
Yellow Ribbon student (Full GI Bill scholarship) so we didnât apply for financial aid.
Visited this past weekend. We live 1400 miles away and have not ties to Baylor - all I knew was RG3 and a pretty good basketball team. The visit opened my mind - we loved it.
Unfortunately the hockey rink is a two hour drive awayâŠughâŠ
Has anyone received merit awards in the past couple days?
Feb 3rd I think right?
My daughter applied ED and was notified of her merit scholarship of 16K per year on 1/25. It was updated today and the amount has increased to 20K per year! I would check the go Baylor portal under financial aid to see if a merit scholarship certificate is there. If itâs not there yet, it should be by Saturday, February 3.
just wanted to hop on here quickly! i received the baylor distinction award and got 23K per year. i was alerted via email
