I have twins, with pretty similar stats and they also received $19k/yr. I feel like it’s low compared to other merit they have received thus far, including TCU & SMU.
We received one today.
We’re thrilled that DS received $14K. He also received a $3K Distinguished Scholars Award. Are those stackable? Fingers crossed!
Um…ok. But technically, merit isn’t “everything” if your kid is not eligible for financial aid. That means you can pay. And it’s not too late to earn the GI Bill!
My daughter received $25k/year and has not really shown any interest. She did get into the BIC but decided not to go to I2E as it’s quite a haul for us. Her stats are not super-high. It’s all about institutional priorities, I guess.
What is “Distinguished Scholars Award”? Did you have to apply for that or did you just get it? THX
He just got it. It actually came before he was even accepted - an invitation to visit in person for DSD. You had to attend the day and write an essay afterwards to qualify for an award (which was relatively modest, $3K a year).
Merit amounts (per year) that I’ve seen on this thread:
10K x 2
14K x 3
19K x 4
20K x 3
23K x 1
24K x 1
25K x 1
Anyone else who hasn’t commented?
Good luck to everyone going to I2E this weekend! You will have the best time!! And anyone who went to either I2E weekend, report back when you find out anything about a scholarship!
I got 64k over the 4 years, which is 16K a year. Not sure which number you want, probably the later.
D received 20K a year. Will also be attending I2E this weekend. Any insight on what the sessions are like for the students would be appreciated.
S24 received $21,000 per year, $84,000 in 4 years.
We did the Engineering one, the orientation and line camp and the academic success one and liked all of them.
Son received 16k/yr
24K per year
Any idea on when they will post the merit award for Honors College?
Wasn’t sure if this was included in original merit notification or separate?
My son will also be attending the I2E event this weekend.
Thanks
Son received $16k/yr also.
I wonder if the only reason my daughter received 25k is because she never responded to the I2E. They might give more to people who aren’t demonstrating a huge level of interest, to try to entice them. I’ll have to admit it’s enticing, but my daughter has decided to stick closer to home (we are in PA).
I got 24K and responded to I2E…I was unable to attend however Unless I get a grant through FAFSA or something else, the cost is too high with the travel back and forth from New York.
you weren’t invited for the online I2E? i was invited but decided im not attending baylor so im not going
No! It wasn’t even an option for me. I just had two in-person dates as options and I had previously scheduled volleyball tournaments on both dates.
