Take this with a large grain of salt, but I have one sophomore daughter at Baylor currently and one high school senior who is between UT, A&M and Baylor right now. She applied EA and has her acceptance to Baylor.
In our experience, Baylor has always released decisions on Friday evenings. Best of luck to all and I hope the wait isn’t too long!
Thank you! Congrats to your DD! Most of her friends who applied EA have been accepted so she is worried it’s a rejection. Hoping she is wrong but know it will be okay whatever happens.
Thanks for your reply. From what was shared by the admissions counselor it sounds like it has changed quite a bit. There is no longer the reading, discussion, and essay. All students who attend are given a $20,000 scholarship if they attend BU.
My DD was accepted tonight on a conditional acceptance! We are celebrating though we know it will be more work in the summer. At least she got in! Thanks for your well wishes! We are so happy.
Congrats to all who have received the awesome news.
My senior applied EA and we are still waiting. Wondering if anyone in the group has a student who is applying to the aviation program? If yes, how long before you received a response?
After many freak outs yesterday, we are happy to report that she was accepted last night with a $50,000 scholarship. We will have to fill out the FASFA now and hope for more. She’s super excited and relieved. Hoping all your kids made it in too.
Do you know if they are eligible to get more than that in scholarships if they attend? My daughter got $120k in merit…and then there’s the additional $20k for attending, but am wondering if there is a possibility of getting more or if she is probably maxed out. That said, I’m glad for the opportunity to attend as I’m hoping it gives her a little more clarity since she’s trying to decide between two schools.
As per our daughter’s admission counselor, the I2E event used to feature additional scholarships that were awarded after the event (there was a competition element to it - reading articles, cooperatively working on a problem, writing a paper on the experience). Previously, those who attended were guaranteed $2,000. No additional awards this year and everyone who attends received $20,000.
There are application scholarships like the Carr Collins ($6,850 per year). There are also some additional scholarship opportunities thru the Honors Program.
Hopeful your daughter has a great visit and leaves with a greater clarity!
