Bombing hits BostonMarathon

“Select / random tweets - overall, negative attitude regarding women/ girls.”

I don’t get it, what am I missing?

To me, this looks like a stream of random rants of a disturbed person, but I do not see anything specific about hatred towards women in these tweets.

That seems to be a very mild twitter feed for an 18/19 yr old man.

Clarification- I didn’t copy any of the negative tweets about girls— left that out.
Auto mechanic on CNN said he seemed to be on drugs, and he made several tweets about drugs. I didn’t copy those either.

Tried to capture any “angry tweets regarding United States”…

those tweets aren’t so bad in any respect. maybe a mild dislike for the US, but nothing much that sticks out

There are hundreds of tweets fyi

I thought the only notable tweet that you reproduced was the one showing that he was a 9/11 “truther.” Seems kind of ironic to believe that 9/11 was perpetrated by the US government, in light of what he ended up doing himself.

Yes, Donna. I also noticed that and thought that it was not very typical for a 19 yr old kid to care about politics, especially about the events from their “distant past”.

to be honest, that conspiracy theory isn’t that uncommon, and doesn’t necessarily reflect hatred for the US, though it does reflect that a person has huge problems with the American government. but sentiments about the US gov. being problematic are pretty widespread

I think if anything these tweets just underlie how normal he seemed to be. From everything seen on the media-it seems like such a disconnect from how normal they seemed and what happened. The family of the perpetuaters seem to be in total shock-I do feel sympathy for their family-as well as (of course) the families of all the victims whose lives have been changed forever.

Just an aside, but I just got a junk email from KMart titled “Shi* Happens”. Aside from the classlessness of the entire “Shi* Your Pants” campaign, I thought it was colossally bad timing to send it to Boston area customers.

@stressedouttt, Do you know the history of the Chechnian terrorists? Because, while I’m a big fan of waiting for the facts, it’s a bit silly to pretend that the history isn’t indicative of muslim extremists. The problems muslim extrimists cause all around the world, including Russia and China is frightening.

The Chechnian terror groups are muslim extremists of the most brutal and relentless variety. Let’s not pretend we don’t know what we DO know, when we know so little.

they haven’t lived in Chechnya for years (does anyone know if they haven’t visited in years? I got the impression that they haven’t, but I could be wrong). I can’t help feeling that this would be jumping to conclusions.
I’m not trying to eliminate the possibility, but better to wait for information foolishly and lack truth than to make assumptions rashly and believe in lies.

No, it reflects stupidity and/or extreme gullibility.

This article predates the boston bombings by quite a bit.

[Behind the Moscow Airport Attack: Russia’s Brutal Policies - TIME](http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,2044732,00.html)

It’s a very balanced story, and it points to the fact that the Russian brutality created the “problem,” and that it wasn’t always Islamist Extremists. But it is now.

stressedouttt–it has been reported the older brother went back to Chechnya for 6 months in 2012. I’m not sure if we know what he did there.

The usual motivations may have more to do with historical grudges than religious fanaticism:

[Caucasian War - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Caucasian War - Wikipedia)
[1940?44 insurgency in Chechnya - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](1940–1944 insurgency in Chechnya - Wikipedia)
[Operation Lentil (Caucasus) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Deportation of the Chechens and Ingush - Wikipedia)

Of course, disaffected, vengeful people may be easy recruiting targets for religious fanatics and other haters.

OK, this is from the Dailymail, but the list of the acts of terrorism linked to Chechen extremists is accurate:

[Chechen President blames AMERICA for Boston bomb suspects’ acts of evil because of ‘immoral upbringing’ | Mail Online](<a href=“Chechen President blames AMERICA for Boston bomb suspects' acts of evil because of 'immoral upbringing' | Daily Mail Online”>Chechen President blames AMERICA for Boston bomb suspects' acts of evil because of 'immoral upbringing' | Daily Mail Online)

If this is what he said… thanks, pal - we do not need your fake support.

The religious fanatics are opportunists and always have been. Right now it is Muslim Extremists. At the time of the Crusades it was Catholic Extremists. I’m not having an agenda, as the article I posted shows the same history, UCB, without the taint of Wikipedia.

And it’s naive to not think that some whacko may attempt something on potentially totally innocent people. It is reckless and negligent on the part of the Mail to go and post pictures of the family as well as the house in an atmosphere as charged as this one…
