I liked all three of the top looks a lot. I disagreed with who went home but both of them did a poor job. Christian is so irritating…“Are you buying THAT?”
It was easy to separate the top from the bottom designers this week. Some designers really struggled with having to work with a client. I liked the winning design but preferred Bishme’s dress.
All three of the bottom designs were bad. I think the judges considered the body of work produced throughout the season and this is what saved Hester.
It’s hard to know how much is being edited, but Tessa’s creation was indefensible. Her inability to take criticism reminds me of Kenley, way back in Season 5, but without the eyerolling. So far she has been lucky that there have been others producing worse garments, but her time is running out.
Sebastian’s dress was a work of art - light years beyond anything else produced.
Jamall’s was a failure, plain and simple. Poor woman he designed that dress for.
I was thinking I would have liked to see the face off challenge between Jamall and Tessa…you know, where they get 1 hour (or some such) to make it or break it. I have a suspicion that Jamall could have fixed that hot mess of a dress, while I don’t really think Tessa could.
My prediction is Tessa is out next.
And yes, Sebastian’s pink dress was completed to perfection in my book.
I think the fact that Jamal and Tessa were in the bottom, and that neither has the potential of the other 4, is a reason they did not opt for a face off challenge
They have had double eliminations before including last season (it was 2 years ago, but still season 16). But with only 6 left, it’s hard enough as it is to stretch that final 4 to two episodes.
I could hardly look at the losing dress. That poor girl would have looked better with a sheet or towel wrapped around her. Why can’t some of the designers realize that curvier women need support and structure? I SO wish that Christian would step up and make a dream dress for that girl - she was only 19.
I know that the edit these shows to make someone the villain. But I don’t think Tessa’s runway comments could have been distorted.
Interesting challenge and judging this week. I liked that they looked at the whole body of work to decide the final four, and also glad that the judges did not ask “why should you be in the final and who would you bring with you” (always thought that was kind of mean).
It was sad, but there really was no way they could have kept him in with that disaster that went down the runway. AND, the fact that he only had 8 completed looks out of the 10 required was just sad. Seems as though he was overwhelmed - I hope he continues to work and maybe they will invite him back next season…I know they did that in season 12 (watching now with my daughter).
