was doing some research and decided to add cu denver on my list! thank you!

Oregon State is excellent Engineering school for your safety. You have a decent chance for uDub Engineering school. But the rest of Targets and Reaches are really reach
Please add more target and low reach Engineering schools such as Ohio State, Purdue, UIUC, VTech, UW Madison, UMD
Doesn’t hurt to have more options by spring next year. Good Luck.

thank you!

Can you say the dietary - halal, kosher etc? Might be a list of schools to match.

Halal

If you want Engineering - that’s not it. Pick an engineering program. If you aren’t wedded, it’s different.

With your stats you’ll find low cost.

What is the desired budget ?

I honestly have no idea. Everytime i try to talk to my parents they just tell me to look at their email for tax documents which isnt exactly helpful

Ask them - is $400k ok ? $200k ? $150k? $100k ?

You need to know to build a list.

definitely
less than all of those if im being real
they havent even finish paying off their own loans (they both have their masters) they are immigrants who didnt rlly come here with much so all their educational was paid with very shady loans they still owe hundreds of thousands on

You will struggle then unless you have need.

Can you answer the food question - for example some schools offer kosher dining. I assume others Halal. You in state or perhaps WUE will likely be best.

But if they have demonstrated need it could change things.

Can they fill this out?

I did, I said halal

Sorry I missed

I think this data can be misleading.

MANY high schools don’t report rank. The CDS data for these schools says that only 20 percent (Stanford, Emory) or 30 percent (USC) of admitted students submitted their rank at all. The vast majority did not. A lot of schools that don’t rank DO still report Val, Sal and maybe top 10 percent. So of those who submit rank, those at the very top are overrepresented.

I agree rank is important to the extent that a college knows or can ascertain a student’s rank. But in the case of OP’s tiny school
the difference between being ranked 5th or 8th may be minuscule. And it may be difficult for colleges to even know for sure if it’s not reported.

These are some schools that you may want to investigate:

  • Arizona State

  • Rice - only if the Net Price Calculator comes back as affordable

  • U. of Alabama – Birmingham

  • U. of Arizona

  • U. of Arkansas

  • U. of Houston

  • U. of Nevada – Reno

  • U. of Texas – Dallas

  • U. of Utah

Not sure PAU has. It’s not urban but OSU has a menu.

UNReno has Halal dining - its WUE. But still $30k all in.

I also just like to add thank you all under this thread for helping me. This has been a really stressful process for me and I have been shedding many tears so I really appreciate all the help. Just wanna be done with this and happy lol

Ok so far I have in my consideration to add to my CommApp:
Ohio State (I actually have a close friend who Ive technically never met irl who goes here so it would be nice)
UMD
UHouston
CU Denver

Yea, Im literally 0.06 away from whos valedictorian bc we rank based on UW only since DE doesnt do much for our weighted for some reason
