So are you saying your supplemental essay for GA Tech was 7 out of 10? Please understand, this is a highly competitive school and many who submit will have fabulous supplemental essays. 9/10

It’s a great school. You stated under $50k. That’s why it doesn’t work. U of R you’d need big merit but it’s unlikely but at least possible. Good luck.

Nothing doesn’t work until your parents say it doesn’t work. Talk to your parents as they should get the last word.

These schools make terrific academic and financial safeties, and you might consider adding a couple to your final list.

Then will these colleges reach your parent price point? I suppose you can apply and see
but be prepared to walk away if the costs don’t work.

Please please discuss this with your parents who are the only ones who can make this financial decision.

It’s been too long since you wrote that original post to edit it. There is a window of time during which you can edit
and then you can’t.
