Congrats all!

mantori, if i remember correctly your son goes to a school like mine, and is not home for all these envelopes coming in. he was not happy about using the home address for colleges as he wanted to be the one to open the envelopes… but knowing him i wouldnt get all the details or deadlines if he got the letters…here is what we do… if the letter comes, i open and scan it in, send to his email with a message line of just accepted or congratulations or important but no mention of what school…so he gets the surprise of reading the letter online just like if he opened an envelope

D got acceptance to Tulane and $20K/year Founders Scholar Scholarship.

DD just got into Ohio University! Woo! Hoo!

yorkyfan, Ohio U is really nice. Good for her!

parent56, that’s an interesting suggestion. You’re right, he’s not home to see the letters arrive. I think I’ll try your approach next time.

only problem mantori is when he forgets to look at his email.lol i dont mention anything (that way the email is a surprise)even if i talk to him for about 24 hours, if he still hasnt found it, then i send a text saying check your email!!!

Hey all, I’m new here, a friend told me about the site and I’ve loved reading it today. My d has been accepted at UVM, Drew, Adelphi and Stonehill, MA. 4 down, 6 to go.

S got his acceptance to Xavier University today - he’s been accepted to three other schools but this was the first one that seemed to really excite him today - the big impressive folder with letter inserted and the additional letter that granted him off the bat a $15,000/year merit!

Decent merit received at his other schools and for three of them he will be competing for more $$$ up to a possible full tuition - not holding my breath at all, but excited for HIS exciting times!

Happy dance!

Ooh, ooh, ooh! I was wrong that there would be no more news until after New Year. Today, notification that my son has been awarded Alabama’s full-tuition Presidential Scholarship! I don’t know if this is the same as the National Merit Semifinalist scholarship; the letter makes no mention of that. Oh, the relief!

abasket, Xavier is such a nice school. Congrats!

Congratulations to your son, mantori.suzuki!

Wow, mantori! News doesn’t get any better than that, congratulations.
Send some of that mojo my way–we’re still waiting on 3 EAs!

I can imagine news that would be a little better…a full ride. But I mustn’t get greedy. A bird in hand, etc.

mantori, major congrats!!! A school your S likes and big $$ – nice going!

Congrats, mantori.suzuki! What wonderful news!

My S got accepted to Loyola New Orleans and Florida State University. Still waiting on UF.

mantori - great news! Congrats. You’ve met your financial safety goal - so early in the game!

sweetsoca - congrats to S.

Thanks, everyone. Actually my financial safety goal is to win the lottery, but this will do for now. :)

Son found out online that he’s into Tulane… awaiting letter in the mail and hopefully some $$$. It’s really nice to be in somewhere, especially since his ED decision comes out in two days!

mantori and hohum,
Congratulations on great news!! DD just found she got into Indiana U. Yea!

hohum and yorkyfan, anyone I’ve ever spoken with who attended Tulane or Indiana loved them. Congratulations!
