We have a crazy-busy schedule this weekend, but it’s all made a little better by the acceptance letter DS got today from Auburn.

Okay…so it’s not his first choice and he knew he would meet the early action criteria…but it’s still nice to know that SOMEONE on your list wants you!!

owlice - confetti & mimosas!!! Works for me!!!

DS has been dragging his heels a bit at finishing up another couple of essays - but this has re-energized him to get them finished. And his friends are a bit jealous because many of them haven’t submitted any applications yet.

Funny - overnight I went from the “Meanest” to the “Best” Mom in the World!!! :)

My S accepted to Clemson today and to Auburn last weekend. Also, applied and accepted to a small, Christian college in GA. Waiting to hear from UGA. (mid-December?)

The kids that are hearing already are Texas residents that are in the top 10%, who have guaranteed admissions. In some cases, in the more competitive majors, kids are hearing that they are “in” UT, but don’t know if they’re in their first choice major. The kids who are hearing that they’ve already gotten their first choice (McCombs, Cockrell, etc.) are those whose stats are high enough to ensure auto acceptance (no-brainers).

Out of staters will have to wait until UT sees how many spots are taken up by instate top 10%ers. In some cases, an oos-er may hear before the spring if they are such a “no-brainer” for the admissions dept that there is no way they won’t be denied :)
