Clemson Admissions - Class of 2023 DISCUSSION

When the status of the hack changes for unable to determine status … what does it change into to infer you are going to get the packet in the mail?

@confidential0405 My daughter’s changed from unable to determine status to a message requesting she enter her Activation Code.

Any status changes over the weekend?

No change for my son yet. Has to be soon. Fingers crossed.

also @4n2yrs I wonder what major your children put down. I just toured Clemson with my junior and my friend’s senior is also on pins and needles waiting. I think they consider the major you put down when considering admissions. So it all depends on who else is interested in those two majors. The admissions guy on our visit was very clear … do not put the same major twice… as if it cut your chances down. My daughter really liked Clemson. She will be interested in Graphic Communications… I don’t think that major is super competitive but I don’t know if it’s going to make things necessarily easier either. I’ll likely be right where all the rest of you parents and students are next year this time. WAITING!

Just received the Tiger bound envelope!!! YAY!!! Now to decide between Clemson OOS or NC State Engineering In state…

@AlexPC Did your letter indicate you would receive scholarship information later in February?

Does Clemson keep track of demonstrated interest?

According to what they have in their 2017 Common Data Set and what we were told by the Admissions Officer last year, they do not.

@NcAb11 Yes it did…I think that is what most are saying who are getting scholarships…Feb…Which is in a few days!!! Yippee

On the Clemson factbook, it says that the senior class is 26.2% of the undergraduates, while the junior, sophomore and freshman classes are much smaller going 13% to 19% and 19%. I was wondering if there was any reason behind this or the senior class is just simply bigger. I’m also curious because assuming that they now need to refill these students that are graduating, will they accept more this year compared to last?

RightyRiper, I’m not an expert, but I’m guessing the “senior class” includes fourth year students and fifth year seniors. Plus, if Clemson is like other state schools I’m familiar with, there are probably lots of kids who transfer in or “bridge” in later after their freshman year. If you look at the info SweetFreedom posted about ten posts up, you’ll see Clemson admissions knows exactly what they’re doing as they hold their yield virtually perfectly steady even though applicants are way up over recent years. Would be fascinating to know the “math” behind the admissions process!!

@RightyRiper I would think the larger senior class reflects students who have enough credits to be classified as seniors, but not enough to graduate. Their SIX year graduation rate is around 89%. I doubt this year’s freshman class will be significantly different in size from those in the past.

do we only receive acceptances in the mail?

@katcap - my daughter put nursing, bio science; one son put psychology, sociology and the other son put sports communications (he has ZERO chance) and undeclared. I really hope Clemson will consider second choice majors rather than simply denying. Fingers crossed and praying constantly!!!

Are the biology and Genetics majors at Clemson very competitive admission wise?

Does anyone know from the past when they sent out the bulk of the acceptances does the hack still change? Still really nervous for my daughter and its only 17 more days till 2/15 I can’t believe they want to send out 10,000 acceptances all at once.

@lynbrd1 If you scroll back to last year’s feed, people started getting acceptances early in the week of the 15th…around the 12th or so.

Does anyone know what happens if you are denied? What does the hack say? When do you hear??? I am DREADING possible rejections. I just want to be able to prepare the kids.

What hack are yall talking about?
