Clemson University Early Action for Fall 2024 Admissions

Same - we visited 6 and she applied to 4.

Exactly. My kid knows nothing about buttons. He applied to 3, already accepted to 1. He is already thrilled. I have added no stress to him.

I was agreeing with you - we see it the same way.

YES! I use this board as my place to vent and share as a parent. I definitely do not share these concerns or stress with my child. Parents need outlets just like kids do. Being from a small town most of the kids in our town are staying local and going to trade schools (ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with that let me add that). But my kid and about 5 of her friends have been dreaming about going away to a big SEC school their whole lives. So I do not have a lot of parents that are feeling the parent side of this so Im here to vent and share.

Funny thing is my daughter is applying to UGA RD (in-state) which is her #1 so in her mind she doesn’t really care (at this point) what Clemson says.

I see nothing wrong with it  We all want good outcomes for our kids and gosh, it really is a stressful time as parents of young adults. It’s hard and can be a lonely process. If people can find some camaraderie here and share pointers, I’m all for it.

It must be nice to be a parent that does not stress about these things. Thats just not me! And I think I will stress about my kids HUGE life decisions until the day I die. Im good with it. And Im glad that Im not alone in it. Thanks to the other stressed out parents for helping me not feel crazy! <3

Anxiety filled and stressed out right there with you ! Thinking of gassing up the car to head to SC for the Tiger town posters too if we get in
I will always root for the best for my child . Not sure why any one else would care ! Let’s do this for 5 more hours :joy:

One daughter applied to 20, mostly public, without visiting. The only possible way of going OOS was with merit, there was a wide range of what she was offered. This was 2020/2021, there weren’t students on campus, no tours, just buildings. Since merit was needed, visits occurred after acceptances. Clemson was a last minute application, she visited the end of April (12 hours away) she had to choose between Clemson and college of Charleston to visit. She was accepted at every school, not surprising, but many were off the table due to finances.

CA public universities have not prioritized it’s tax paying residents in years. Greed with OOS tuition has been the UC and CSU trend. Politics and hyper-leftist activism on CA campuses were also (unfavorable) factors. Both my sons applied to all OOS D1 schools seeking a healthy meaningful academic and social college experience.

Not too well. Just thinking I’m really not getting in!!

Had to research myself once I read the phrase “hyper-leftist activism”

I am 100% resigned to the fact he will be deferred based on all the scientific data that came about from “button/no button”.

I hope Florida starts restricting too.

The 12 Florida universities in the state system have a cap of 10% out of state, but it is spread amongst the 12 schools, so some have more and some have less to reach that requirement.

Trying to focus on something else but can’t. DD finished her last final and is trying to nap. Not working out. She can’t nap at a time like this.
