Coca-Cola Scholarship - 2009-2010

I am helping my daughter fill out the semifinalist questionnaire in Word, and the cells to put the answers in are very limiting - you can basically only type in about 40 characters, so there’s no real ability to expand on any topic. Are you just supposed to keep the answers short and sweet, or is there a problem with the form?

i had the same problem, i could not elaborate at all, I am assuming that is on purpose.
GOOD LUCK!!!

yes, its on purpose… have to keep things brief! it’s the only way the committee can review 2300 applications thoroughly.

Mythbuster…do you remember when the finalists were notified last year? I am sure it will take some time to get through that stack. :)

Will our original applications be available to the committees? I would like to diversify on some of the awards and avoid redundancy.

Good luck, everyone!

There seem to be **a lot **of spaces for clubs, volunteer, and employment activites. Do we necessarily need to have a lot of these for a chance? Also, what kind of special skills are yall putting down?

I def didn’t fill all the spaces, and I doubt many people will. No worries. Merry Christmas!!

I’m ready to send in my semifinalist packet next week. Do you think I should send it to PO Box address or the special delivery address?
Btw, I’m going to do first class, not priority

How important do you think ACT/SAT scores are in deciding Finalists?
I am a semi-finalist with pitiful standardized test scores and am pretty worried.

from my knowledge, we don’t need to send test scores.

Introvert: I sent mine first class to the PO Box address. Form A said only to send envelopes to the special delivery address if you were sending very close to the deadline.

WHOOOO! thats great lol

hey even me too…i hav pitiful sats…coke…i hope dey dont c my scores

ohhh really…sick!! i sent mine in special delivery one…:(

You definitely have a great score but your ec’s arent strong. maybe you should apply to scholarships that highly honor sats because coca-cola isnt one of them. They want to see people who werent home studying for the SAT 24/7, rather extremely involved in community and leadership. i dont know the exact qualifications with respect to that, but dont get mad. just keep applying to every scholarship you can until you start getting them. it truly is a tough process. goodluck

I think finalists are notified mid-end February, but the Atlanta trip is a bit earlier this year. And there is definitely no need to fill in all the spaces. Good Luck!

Thanks MythBuster. Do you know when the finalist weekend is scheduled for this year?
Thanks a million! :)

nerdygal:

I’m sure it will be fine. Good luck!

for the letter of rec coming from the school is it supposed to address academics and classroom stuff or more of how we made an impact in the school with ecs?
