I retract my earlier “lmao;” change to “roflmao.”
@sherpa - I tried this last one and was sure it could by my hook as well as my spike. To say I was passionate about it would be an understatement. I pursued it vigorously with the intent of showing my true leadership skills. Without going into detail, let’s just say things didn’t work out as I had anticipated. Most unfortunate.
So I’ve decided to become a Youtube star.
@sherpa, a hook is (usually pretty strongly) curved, and a spike isn’t. What’s so “hard to explain” about that?
What a beautiful thing to wake up to. All of it. Ordered my thong already. Will not mention hooks and spikes, for fear of wading into troubled waters. Oops, looks like I mentioned them…
@Lindagaf - As demonstrated upthread, you clearly understand the importance of passion in the process, and yet here you are, fearful of wading? Come on, passion up, grow a pair, put on you big girl panties.
Edit to clarify: Please disregard the last part. Growing a pair AND putting on you big girl panties is risky, not clam fart risky, but still…
Unless your big girl panties are actually the CC thong thingy, in which case, go right ahead, that would surely qualify as a passionate show of demonstrated interest.
Good luck!
You know I am wearing my thong to my alumni interview. Just the thong.
@lookingforward , you need to follow my lead. Are they gonna choose the person with the thong under their clothes, or me? Just sayin’.
Although I’ve been on this board over a decade, this is the first I’ve heard of the app. Maybe this is a regional thing? I just don’t think it matters to anyone around here. FYI
Of course, obviously I support your interest in the app. Maybe it is a good fit for you.
edit: now I’m wondering: Are there long term outcome studies? app vs non app? Just so you know, I’ve done just fine without the app all these years.
I don’t even want it!
This kid at my high school is applying to the same HYPSM as me, and has almost identical scores except I have better EC’s and got a 35C on the ACT in one sitting (other kid only got a 34C). We are both applying to the SAME program for direct entry and they only take 1.02% of all applicants into the program.
Anyway, I found out yesterday that they did something unethical, and tried to influence their chances for admission by claiming their app could do some things to please the adcoms that I can’t really mention here (it involves hooks and spikes, if you get what I mean). I think they may have actually demonstrated some of the app’s features for one of the adcoms!
I wasn’t supposed to overhear this, but the girl who promised not to tell was telling this other girl in the lunchroom, so…But anyway, should I report this to the university? Should I say anything?
And to think I missed all this silliness for two days because I thought this was about phones!
@dragonmom , sorry, you snooze, you lose. Most of us applied ED and have great stats. (I know my stats are great because I am wearing my thong.) I am confident that I will get my CC app acceptance after I, ahem, finish my alumni interview.
I almost didn’t open the thread either, since I don’t know anything about apps, nor do I care about them, but remembered that lack of knowledge or interest in a topic has never before stopped me from generously offering my advice and opinions.
All garland, who started the humor, has to do is get 50,000 followers (er, “likes.”)
^Ah, you’ve figured out my ulterior motive!!! Bwahaha! The likes will ALL be mine.
This is v2 of @garland 's meta thread.
BTW @1214mom , i clicked on my thong link (why DO they sell that thing??? And, better question , who buys that thing??) and I got an ad that said “weightless”! Looked closer and saw it was an ad for a streamlined mortgage!! And to think I believed cc app had good FA. They want me to take out a mortgage?? Or would they prefer I order the thong and get a job pole dancing (ooh that is NOT a pretty sight to even imagine!)
^Exactly. I got a niche and I’m sticking with it.
I think you should offer to teach for cc app. No more local teaching for you. Time to move up to the bigtime.
I am dying laughing… ^:)^
@garland, first they ask for hooks, then spikes, and now niches? How do they expect 17-year-olds to keep up??
Dartboard, dfbdfb. Some get the app, some don’t. Maybe a sad story will help.
@Lindagaf , I would be careful making that kind of assumption. I tried it and it didn’t work out as well as I had expected. And I’m a guy. To see a guy shirtless is no big deal, but a woman in just a thong might be offensive to some. You’d be taking a much bigger risk than I did.
