Did you get an email from Cornell they required FA documents? when?

CSS was submitted last December. Received an email to upload tax documents last week.

I submitted CSS as soon as it opened in October. They asked for extra info through IDOC 2 months after that in December.

That’s so awesome to hear! How many of us out there do you know? I would guess that both the number of transfer applicants and the number admitted are low at ILR (with a rate the same as the usual admission rate of about 15%).

Did any CHE TO applicants get an advisor? Or anybody applying to any college?

Hello everyone! I saw that Cornell accepted 5824 students for Fall 2025, which is a lot higher than previous years. Is that going to have an effect on the amount of transfers they accept this year? Just wondering what y’all think.

Most likely not. I think it would affect the waitlisted students though as they are less likely to get off.

The accepted class size will probably not affect the transfers as the housing for freshman is different than the housing for transfers. Freshman are on North Campus and transfers are on West and South Campus as well as some in the Program Houses. What might affect transfers is the amount of rising juniors and seniors that opt to live in on campus housing rather than off campus accommodations. First and second year underclassmen are required to live on campus. I think they can also live in fraternity and sorority houses. Upperclassmen can choose to live in the same groups of housing that the transfers would use. Last year, there was a higher number than expected for on campus juniors and seniors which actually led to some sophomores being waitlisted for housing. It all was eventually resolved, but I’m guessing they admitted less transfers due to this.

When do you guys think decisions will start rolling out?

They said the end of April. I believe someone mentioned the week of April 14th. Looking at the past, we can get some clues.

For last fall, the first acceptance in the forum was on April 18th. For 2023, the first was also April 18th. For 2022, there were some that got it earlier (April 16th-ish). In the forum, they said that the people that got in earlier might be due to them being veterans??? I am not sure. Anyway, it seems like it was definitely in the week of April 18th though.

So, it seems like the best bet is for April 18th!

Wow that’s a big class!
But I guess it’s maybe more the number that enrolls (not the accepted number) that will matter. Applications to all universities went up and Cornell probably expects many of those whom they admit will go elsewhere.

All schools accept more than they know will enroll. Their goal is to accept just the right number to hit a certain yield. For schools like HYP, the yield percentage is in the 70s. I believe for Cornell, it’s in the 60s. They may have not admitted as many students in December which would mean higher acceptance numbers for regular decision in March. So it doesn’t necessarily mean a larger class. It’s all a delicate numbers game.

Applications at some schools were actually down slightly this year. Yale and Dartmouth reported lower application numbers.

Does anyone know what the non TO transfer acceptance rate will be for the fall? For people doing a regular transfer application, what should the acceptance rate be? Since transfer acceptance rate is about 15% but TO option probably inflates this, will it be around 6-7%?
