Both options are fabulous, it’s just that Cornell would be the cheapest and closest to home (I’m in NY)

My daughter will go to Duke if she doesn’t get off the waitlist at Cornell.

She wants to do engineering. She turned down UPenn and Brown for Duke but says she will go to Cornell if she gets in.

The entitlement on this thread is laughable. How can anyone say they “expected” an email today? Again, just because it is the first day that people can potentially get pulled from the waitlist does not mean that today is a “decision day”, or any other day for that matter. Cornell has promised nothing and to expect anything more is absurd. If you are unable to wait, then you should not have accepted to be placed on the waitlist. You know what the deal was when you agreed to remain on the waitlist. And you’re complaining about something that no one owes you when your other choices are Duke, UVA, UNC, Penn, Hopkins, Amherst, USC, etc. People, please, have some humility, and at the very least, patience.

I don’t think it’s entitlement I think it’s just hope no one is saying they’re ungrateful for their other choices
