Cornell Waitlist Class of 2028

Emailed them today. Said the waitlist process is not yet “complete,” and they expect to have a clearer picture next week.

Thanks a lot. Yes, we heard about the limitation of the clinical positions/hours due to the location, but I also heard this can be mitigated by the summer positions, but I agree that it would be nice it is on the campus where they can be easily accessed. I also heard they focus more on the research and volunteering on or near campus and doing the clinical work during the summer. Thanks for sharing your input again!

I got off (Non CALS) waitlist without sending grades, and my school also reccomended sending them. However I did mention them in my LOCI

Yeah email to call, then in the call she tells you you’re getting an offer of admission

jamajama, i didn’t say anything in my loci about my grades specifically but i mentioned that I was graduating as valedictorian and with the award of the top student in five out of six of my subjects. is that enough or would you recommend still sending grades? i’ve pretty much stayed consistent but have dropped in one of my subjects. if possible I don’t want to send them because of this one drop where the grade was really high previously but im not sure if i should because they said they recommend sending them

I think you should be fine either way. Mentioning valedictorian + top of class kind of implies that you’ve been consistent enough. If you still choose to send grades, that one grade should affect you too much, your other grades, and valedictorian should “cancel out.”

If it makes you feel any better, and if you don’t believe in the ad populum fallacy, I sent my grades. 7/8 of them showed improvement/consistency, but one of them dropped from IB6 (95) to IB5 (90). Don’t stress yourself too much, you were waitlisted, which means they already consider you a worthy candidate. You got this!!

im assuming cas cause that’s what i applied for

was this for a specific school or for cornell in general. also if it is cas, im assuming that imply 1-2 more waves

I’m not an AO but that sounds fine. I just had a sentence at the end saying I maintained A range grades and stated the AP classes I’m taking. I don’t think that was the focus of my loci though

It doesn’t imply any more waves or no more waves, it just means they can see if they’ve hit their enrollment amount

That’s for CALS specifically. From what I can tell, the waitlist at CAS is already moving. CALS seems to be the last one (pretty consistent with last year’s trends).

Does this mean they haven’t started to let people off yet and that they will likely start next week or that they have started to let people off and will be complete with waitlist acceptances by next week?

Judging by the fact that absolutely no people on reddit/this forum for CALS have been let off the waitlist yet, my best guess would be that they haven’t begun taking people off yet. Another thing that I’d say is that CALS admits by major, so even within CALS there are probably going to be different times for decision as per the major. Last year, a trend that I saw was that the ADMITS off the waitlist for CALS were let off on different dates (probably because of differences in their majors), but the guaranteed TO’s that were given out were released in bulk (on the same day). Again, to other college applicants, TO’s are given on decision day, but it works differently for CALS, at least based on what I’ve been able to deduce.

Did anyone hear from the Nolan School?

Anyone heard back from CHE yet?

Did everyone who got off the waitlist got a continued interest email prior, or did you guys just get an acceptance email?

Got off of the CALS waitlist today! Good luck to everyone on this thread!
