Cornell Waitlist Class of 2028

What is your actual intended major friend?

Biometry and Statistics (CALS)

Does anyone think there may be another cas acceptance wave

are they considering the content of the loci for cals? or are they just accepting and rejecting based off the original application and the loci is just proof that you’re still interested?

someone said they called admissions and learned that there will be CAS waves every week till end of May

is there a good chance to get off the waitlist if someone from my school did

Bro I lowkey have no idea cuz I put so much effort into the LOCI and had it reviewed by a Cornell Alumn as well. I don’t understand their criteria for reviewing the applications off the waitlist. at this point, do they even review the LOCI based on depth and interest?

Last year two people from coe at my school got off

idk for sure but there are a lot of things online from different admission officers where some say that they briefly look over it, just use it as continued interest, or they do read it. in the end, it probably depends on what the school is looking for and if a loci is recommended it is always good to have one but there are always people who got off with waitlist without a loci as well

Quick question if I had a big update to add that happened a couple days ago can I still add it or is it too late? I saw someone submit their loci on may9 and got a likely email may 10 so you never know :sob:

You should submit your major update as long as you haven’t received a final rejection, in my opinion. You have nothing to lose.

Do you now when they heard from COE?? Wondering if it was late Spring or Summer?

Btw for everyone that is on the waitlist for CALS, I just spoke to an admissions officer about the waitlist. This might’ve already been said before so I might accidentally repeat it. So the waitlist offers are generally also based on major. So I am assuming that if they have less communications majors in the incoming class, they are gonna try their best to select a student applying for communications on the waitlist. Also, they anticipate finishing all offers for the waitlist by the end of May/beginning of June so there will still be more waves I believe. Also in terms of TO offers, those will be made at the very end of the waitlist period, so around the beginning of June, maybe going into mid June.

I applied for Biometry and Statistics which I know has a relatively small amount of students pursuing it so I am hoping for the best in terms of being accepted off the waitlist.

lol that was me! definitely submit it—honestly i feel like sending a later loci actually helped me because it confirmed my interest after i had already committed to a dif college and that i was still doing meaningful work even after receiving my initial decision
 it’s never too late!

No I was responding to the person who said last year. I don’t know of anyone who got in this year.

For those of you who got off the waitlist, what time on Thursday did you get the portal update for the official offer?
