Cornell Waitlist Class of 2028

Would not reccomend leaving it blank, talk abt Cornell engineering if you don’t have an update

We are waitlisted for CAS not COE, the limit is only 350c

Hoping earlier cas waitlist acceptances can shed some light if their forms had TO for fall 2025 option or not. I want to get an idea if TO is mostly the goal
Of this message or its always been on the form.
Thanks much for any input from earlier cas acceptances.

So are we expecting that the kids that get this email are most likeley getting off the waitlist?

Apparently someone earlier got the CAS email and didn’t hear back so def not guaranteed. Just take it for what it is for now.

Do you have any idea if the TO offer to check yes or no has always been there on the cas form or a new thing?

Almost everyone who got the email was offered admission. There is only a single exception reported here.

Thanks that’s encouraging. I am still hoping the previous acceptances can share of the form for them in may also had the TO option to check for CAS. I am fearful that checking that can actually lead to TO rather than current cycle.

Did everyone on COE get today’s email? Or just selected one?

think it was for everyone.

Can we discuss the COE 1500 word essay? Is this to weed out waitlisted students? 1500 words is a lot to ask if admission is still not guaranteed. Do we have stats from past years to see how students who completed this essay did in terms of being accepted?

Sure thing! Here’s the reply:

“Excited to connect with fellow waitlisted students for the Class of 2028 at Cornell! Looking forward to sharing updates, support, and tips as we navigate this process together. Let’s stay positive and hopeful! :star2: #Cornell2028 #WaitlistDiscussion

Ah. so for CAS whoever gets it is offered admission, but for other colleges I’m guessing its a different ballgame.

My son received cas email on Friday of first wave. There was a checkbox option to join in fall and an option to join TO. We checked both. He received admission offer the fall following Monday morning. For 350 characters he wrote about research project he wanted to participate( he knew upper class men from Cornell) and how Cornell can help him to get into medical school. Hope this helps. Good luck

My D24 selected “no” to TO option and was accepted.

We also said no to TO. Since we submitted a second loci and transcript just within the week we mentioned that we have already updated the portal. Praying for a positive outcome.
