Cornell Waitlist Class of 2028

I said yes because I would take a TO over no offer. By the way, I filled out the form with my email, but there is no indication in my actual Cornell admission portal. This is normal right? If I click on the link again it shows my previous submission correctly, but nothing appears in the portal.

I have the same thing too, I think it’s the same for everyone.

I believe the Cornell housing application deadline must have already passed so if people get acceptances in the next week, will they not get their best choice for housing?

Freshman housing is assigned randomly. There is no choosing your dorm.

Did any hear anything back from CALS about TOs? CALS is known for giving out a lot of TOs to waitlisted applicants, so I expected to hear back something last week lowkey. Hopefully, something comes out this week tho.

Did you end up committing to Cornell?
My daughter is still waiting to hear from Cornell COE (although she has committed to Duke).

Damn today is the last day of peace for me. Tomorrow onwards I’ll be stressed about a decision.

Rooting hard for you and your C24!

Is there any insight on how many TO Cornell gives per year? Specifically for CAS?

Did your daughter recieve the email this past Friday for the 1500 character additional essay for consideration off the coe wait list ?

Thank you. Yes she did and is planning on submitting it tomorrow. I am just worried that even if she gets in now, it’s so late and she would have missed out on the Cornell visit days in the Spring and housing application, etc.

I’m not understanding how that impacts her decision. Hundreds of kids do not go to the spring admit day and are fine. And as another poster said, housing is assigned. No one has received their housing assignment yet.

When she went to the Spring admit days to the other schools she got into, it really cemented for her that Duke was the best school for her to commit to despite the fact she had toured the Duke campus a year before. If she gets admitted to Cornell, I guess I am worried that she will have to make a decision this time without have a second visit with all kinds of informational sessions to confirm this is what she really wants.
Anyway, this might all be moot since she may not get off the waitlist at all!

She’s a bright kid. Both schools are outstanding. Whatever decision she makes will be the right one. Can’t go wrong here.

No worries, Cornell has the process down pat. Duke is a beautiful campus, I visited it three times for my oldest daughter. What is your daughters area of interest?

She wants to do engineering but has not decided which discipline to pursue yet (although she knows she doesn’t want to do bioengineering)

The application process is challenging for the students/parents. More so each year. The schools want the students to be successful and they have the experience to know which ones will be in their school. Best of luck, we know it will work out, and usually for the best. Our children will learn that too.

Yes it sure is. Thank you!
