Cornell Waitlist Class of 2028

Maybe if there are a few more students that rejected, they may release a few offers (possibly) on Monday (unless the 20 they released per prior post includes a contingency for rejects)

idek, I got an email about 2 weeks ago and I haven’t heard from them since. I also heard from someone else in this thread that got an email about a month ago and just
crickets. And I don’t even think TO are guaranteed, so what’s the point!

I spoke with COE admissions and was informed they don’t issue TO
its regular transfer apps for fall of 2025
Not sure about other majors

Got just the guy for that spot
haha. Very competitive major. Son got a perfect score on the AP exam for CS. Cornell has an excellent engineering program, arguably one of the best. The student must have had an incredible offer to turn it down. Good for them.

That was my post, S24 hasn’t heard anything from CAS since the Friday email from 5/17. We are pretty much settled with his current choice. Good luck to everyone!

i think we’re cooked for aap its been real

Apparently someone called and next Friday is the last day offers will be made

I thought it was yesterday?

Nope it is next Friday, not sure how it got mixed up to be yesterday. My guess is they wanted a bit more time to determine the final number of people they want to reach out to after seeing who accepted and who didn’t off the waitlist

Would these be to those who have already received interest confirming emails? Or would this be a new set of interest confirming emails?

Based on the pattern, I’m assuming it’s a new set of interest confirming emails

Do you think those that did receive an email previously will get a TO option (if you opted into it)?

Is this for COE?

CAS. Read the chain.

Dude, that “read the chain” wasn’t necessary. Everyone is trying their best. This is the worst platform for maintaining a coherent thread.

nah I don’t think there was anything that came up recently. :frowning:

Asked an admission officer and they said that the waitlist is still technically “open” and it will close July 1st. TO offers will be made after July 1st for CALS I believe. This could also apply to the other schools.

wait TOs happen after July 1? shouldn’t they happen before the waitlist ends? isn’t that how it’s always been, like people receiving TOs towards the end of the waitlist period?

Yeah I was assuming that the TO was gonna happen before July 1st but apparently it’ll be happening after, according to an admissions officer of CALS at least.
