hello, i am not sure but my daughter applied early action and received a deferral to regular decision on BSN scholar. she may have been ‘deferred’ because there was a hiccup with one of her letters of recommendation. hope this helps!
you too!!!
I can share that my daughter received communication about the MSU nurse scholar program, as well and they stated they completed the early action review and that they were deferring her to regular decision.
Congratulations to your daughter! My daughter got the email last night as well regarding the early admission pathway at Ohio State. I’m curious as well if there is any fine print we need to investigate.
Good luck to your daughter too. I wonder how many got admitted during early action for MSU nurse scholar? Most likely not too many if they only take around 15 total in the program. It was most likely super competitive.
Did your daughter apply to Western Michigan direct admit program? I am wondering how many students they admit in that program? Wondering if it is a low number like MSU? Also wondering overall thoughts on that program as well.
Yes, I have wondered about MSU too. I am sure the competition is quite high.
My daughter was admitted to Western DA. We have not really investigated that one. We have a few visits set up at other schools but will have to add Western to our itinerary.
Good luck yours too! Does she have a top contender at this stage?
Top 5 at this time still considering:
U of M- deferred
MSU Scholar- waiting (admitted Pre-nursing)
Western Michigan- admitted DA
Marquette- waiting for RD, any day now
Miami U- admitted DA
(Cincinatti- admitted DA)
Also admitted to a few more DA programs but have taken them off the list.
Our list is similar!
UofM-Deferred,
MSU-pre-nursing, Nurse Scholars deferred,
Miami of Ohio-admitted
UC-admitted,
Loyola Chicago-admitted,
UMaine-admitted,
Western-Admitted,
Saint Mary’s Notre Dame-Admitted, University of Delaware-waiting, and many non direct admit that I think she has ruled out. All DA are still on the table for now.
Did your DD hear from Gonzaga today? Mine was rejected but given options:
a. stay on nursing waitlist b. switch to public health major c. withdraw application
I have 2 older kids who got some waitlist decisions for other majors (at other schools) but were never given choices other than to go on waitlist or not. Curious about it this…
Is Gonzaga out?!!
Any views on UT Austin BSN?
My D got in to UT Nursing! So proud of her and excited!
So happy for you guys!!
Congrats!
Congratullations. My D was offered a spot there as well. Pros and cons on the program?
I don’t think so which is why we were so confused when my teen heard. They had just gotten an email the week before from admission counselor (person they interviewed with in Fall) asking how they were doing.
Did you get a decision?
No decision yet and when I mentioned to my kid she said, “Mom my interviewer kept saying over and over February 15th”. But I made her check anyway (lol) and nothing… Sorry about your daughter, better thing to come!
Looks like progression requires a C+ (not C or C-) or higher in every major course, according to Progression | Bachelor of Science in Nursing Handbook 2023-2024
That’s pretty standard in many nursing programs. Cs do NOT get degrees in nursing. But it’s part of the fine print everyone needs to look at.
My daughter got into Gonzaga direct admit nursing on 02/09 with 27k merit. Still too expensive for us…
