Fall 2020 Transfer

@Heisenberg15 I don’t have it either and I didn’t apply for aid just getting nervous!!

@transferringlion I vaguely remember being asked for UVA’s commonapp questions but I am not LGBT so I did not answer, but I also thought it was strange.

@valovers Trust me I get it, I have literally been checking sis 50 times a day to see if the financial aid thing changes. I think I’m going crazy lol

I didn’t apply for aid in the common app form. But I did fill out fafsa and added uva in addition to my current college. I have to fill out fafsa since my current scholarship requires it.

When I login to SIS, on the dashboard I see “no info found”. But when I click on the left panel, finance - financial aid and finance center, I see 2020 & 2021 both showing “inquiry access denied”. 2020 maybe from my last year’s application when I applied from high school.
So confusing…

@Bizdock If you submitted your FAFSA, even if you didn’t apply for aid, they will go over the documents (hence the “inquiry access denied”)

@valovers It certainly is strange. Does it mean that they are trying to expand diversity to the LGBT community? I thought the school was already a great place for LGBT people to attend, that was one of the reasons why I applied lol.

@transferringlion but why does one place say not found and the other denied? Any idea?

@Bizdock I didn’t submit my FAFSA, so no idea tbh.

I just checked my sis and it says “Parent Tax Return Schedule” in the To Dos list. Did anyone else receive this?

@IWantTransfer20 I didn’t have that exact document but I had to send in some tax forms from the todo list last month

Hey guys, I just got an email from student financial services indicating that in order to look at my CSS profile, they took my SSN from my FAFSA. If they are looking further at my financials, isn’t this a good indication that I’m probably getting in? On my SIS they also have listed to do’s for fin aid, and the statement reads “Additional information is required for us to complete your financial aid award”. Does this mean that I am in? It seems like its hinting at it, however I could just be getting my hopes up here. Let me know what you guys think!

@BrandonChub2 I also have that on my SIS as well. Not sure if it means anything tho

How do you guys check “SIS”? I never got any email or login information for that. Only the application portal

Does anyone know if the official decision release date is May 1st? Still hoping we could hear on the 24th!!!

@valovers really hoping for the 24th as well- although I think someone earlier claimed an admissions counselor said it would be the 1st. Guess we will just have to wait and see!

My guess is May 1st, although April 24th would be nice. Not a fan of getting a decision the weekend before finals if it’s not what I had hoped for.

@17andcomingclean When I received the email, I got it from “studentsystem@virginia.edu”. It was an automatic email that should have gone to all students I’m guessing. I received it on the 4th of March. The email that I received says to email “https://in.virginia.edu/helpdesk” or call 866-469-4866 for help. You could probably email or call them and just ask what’s up.

Looking over the 2019 transfer thread, it seems that the overwhelming majority of applicants whose portals showed “inquiry access denied” were accepted. However, there were a few accepted posts that stated their portal never changed from “no info found.”

So, if yours is showing inquiry access denied, I would say that’s a pretty good indicator of acceptance, but a no info found isn’t confirmation of rejection  Stay hopeful lol

@ncook47 no let’s not start that please. If you look at previous years threads it can change up until the last minute and in some cases doesn’t change at all. Why unnecessarily stress people out with an inaccurate indicator?

@Bizdock Thank you.

Not trying to stress people out, just saying it sounds like good news if you do have it. Mine is still showing no info found.

Like I said & as you also stated, it’s possible to change up until the last minute and in some cases for accepted students it didn’t change at all.
