@needingachange ouch. that’s a low number. i hope my essays were good enough to make that number not matter lol.
i also think its kinda weird that the number is that low, because most people i see active on uva transfer threads get in. the ppl who post in here want it so bad and im sure they reflected on that on their apps. maybe our dedication is gonna get us that w
@transferringlion That’s definitely true. Everyone on this website is crazy (in a good way!!)
@UVAyyy rightfully crazy lol. the process is so unpredictable that doing it again kind of makes you go stat-crazy.
like i never thought i’d end up a kid concerned about “hooks” or stuff like that but look at me now lol. i’m out here going like “will my lgbt status or out of state status positively or negatively affect my admissions profile… blah blah blah diversity matrix blah blah blah yield protection.”
no matter what the result is, i can’t wait to finally take a deep breath and find a school i can finally fall in love with. everyone here is smart and dedicated, we’re all gonna end up somewhere great.
Man can I just say how wholesome this thread has been

please chance me!!!
@lalalalaland I think you have a good chance. It’s okay, same SAT score for me lol. You are in state, you have a huge advantage already. College gpa is definitely good enough. Only thing is you are applying as a rising sophomore which might make it more difficult on you, however not by a lot. I think odds are you have a good shot especially since you say your essays were good and you have good EC’s!
@lalalalaland if you aren’t applying to mcintire (solely because 35 spots for external transfers so i can’t say i feel comfortable predicting that), you have a solid chance in my opinion.
getting caught up with the chancing on this website (maybe except this thread because we’re more realistic and kind than others) isn’t the best idea! trust your story. stats will get you in a school but the experiences, struggles, and victories that shaped you will get you to love it. if you told your story well through your application, have faith in your adcoms. compared to a lot of admissions offices, uva cares A LOT about us, what we feel, and what we have to say.
@lalalalaland I think your chances are pretty good. Your gpa is great and you have strong ECs.
Can I ask why you’re transferring from tech? Asking cuz I go to JMU and I’ll be transferring to tech if I don’t get into UVA
Do you guys think they’ll increase the number of acceptances and waitlist excessively due to COVID-19? I’m hoping to get on the waitlist at least since I think I’ll be a TA for one of my courses and can add that to my letter of continued interest. Really hoping for an acceptance though because I can’t wait another couple months for a definitive answer LOL
I love VT! I just got dealt a bad hand of cards honestly. It’s seriously an amazing school!!! Let me know if you have any questions in particular. I just felt like with the over admission, a lot of opportunities were taken from me.
@UVAyyy i think it’s inevitable. with the possibility of students taking gap semesters/years because of the possibility of fall 2020 being virtual, i’m sure they don’t want to lose any money lol.
@hashtagrejected I am also transferring from Virginia Tech. I am honestly not very happy with the school
On that note, do you guys think that full pay, in-state applicants will gain an advantage? Looking at the Applying to College subreddit, most if not all the applicants pulled off the waitlist so far from numerous schools were full pay, out-of-state people. Not sure how this translates to in-state…
Also, the fact that some schools are already pulling students off the waitlist for non-transfer admissions before the traditional enrollment deadline of May 1st (although some colleges have extended it) is crazy to me, although I’m not sure if this is consistent with prior years. Hopefully a good sign for transfer waitlisters…
Hey, does anyone notice that the “Academics” section on the dashboard looks different? I don’t know what is different but it is not the same as the last time I checked.
@Rehbell234 They added a student exams section it looks like.
I feel crazy checking this more than my email. Anyone else? Friday is approaching so slowly lmao
@averydeit i have a weird feeling it’ll come out tonight at 5
Psychic powers haha @lalalalaland
@averydeit idk maybe not but i want it to
