Fall 2020 Transfer

Everyday starts with the hope that ‘today is the day’, then you go to bed and wake up the next day…

^ emphasize

For the people who have the pending financial aid message in the “What I Owe” section, is your aid like suspiciously low? Mine is only $937 for each semester, which is really unrealistic so I don’t know if it means anything

@Transferlala mine is different, did you fill out a css profile? I think loans might be included in the pending aid too

Would I have a financial aid page if I only submitted my FAFSA? and no CCS

@nining I filled out FAFSA and CSS, but I just called and they said it was still processing so that makes me feel a little bit better!

I am freaking out because I have no aid information on my SIS. I only did FAFSA no CCS. Does this mean I didn’t get in? It doesn’t even say it is pending

@transfer2020dab what do you mean by applied for aid? FAFSA and CCS or just Fafsa?

@lalalalaland my guess is that there might not be aid there bc FAFSA is just for federal aid. UVA’s aid would be institutional grants and would need the CSS profile to award any aid. I’m in the same boat - I have nothing on my SIS and I’m not sure what it means. Hoping for good news regardless.

@niniwah thats great news… i was freaking out / crying lol

@niniwah does yours say just “no information found” or “no to-dos” and stuff like that?

If you didn’t apply for aid, would you see anything in the “what I owe” section?

I didn’t apply for aid, and I don’t have anything in my to-do list or in the what I owe section. I do however have 2020 inquiry access denied, but I’m pretty sure that’s because I applied for aid when I applied to UVA in HS.

@lalalalaland When I go to the Finance Center and click “view financial aid,” it says “There is no financial aid information found.” On the general financial aid page, it just says “you have no awards yet.” Not sure if anything would pop up for those like us who didn’t file the CSS.

@niniwah that’s exactly what mine says

How do you all think going pass-fail for a couple of courses on my transcript will impact my chances to transfer next spring or fall?

I’m not sure how it will impact your chances, but UVA is aware of the whole corona situation with online classes, so I don’t think they’d put too much weight on this semester’s grades (I could be totally wrong tho). I think it’s better to either do all graded or all pass/fail because if you only do pass/fail for a few classes, then it seems like you’re trying to “hide” any grades that are lower than an A @UVAmen

@UVAmen I wouldn’t do it unless you really have to.

On SIS when you click “Academics” followed by “Transfer Credit” can you guys see any credits?

@valovers i can’t see any!
