FedEx experiences - how accurate are their delivery predictions?

I ordered on the 13th. Ugh…

I take it back. It was ordered on the 12th. NOW is says its in Kentucky with NO estimated delivery date!!!

Well crud. I spoke with Rue La La and they have no idea where the pkg is. He wonders if it was in that Fedex double tractor trailer that crashed earlier this week. Seriously. He would have overnighted replacements for the gifts for my staff (I dont care how long the items for me take) but there are none in stock.I am not happy.

Teri - By now I am quite curious…any chance you can share with us what your new top looks like???

Sure, I don’t mind sharing:
http://www.sundancecatalog.com/product/c+p+shades+snowfall+velvet+tunic.do?sortby=ourPicks&refType=</a></p>

I got it in the blue, which combined with the velvet material, makes for a very casual, yet lush top. I’m a redhead with blue eyes, so the blue is a great color for me (I LOVED the burgundy, too, but that color tends to clash with my hair). Tomorrow night I plan on wearing it with black leggings and black boots and some chunky sterling silver jewelry (James Avery for those of you who know what that is). This is the second top I’ve ordered from Sundance catalog. The first one I got over a year ago has been worn so many times and I get so many compliments on it; I have gotten my money’s worth and expect to with this one. Since I no longer work out of the home, I don’t spend a lot of money on work clothes, so I can justify having a handful of nice, casual tops for special nights.

My only regret with Sundance is, I found several necklaces that I really liked that I tried to order to go with the top, but they were already on back order. But my James Avery will work well, too.

Today was an enormous day for H at work. A project he’s been working on for years got final FDA approval. It could likely be one of a few days that he looks back on as most memorable in his career when he retires… it’s that huge. When we planned this party a few weeks ago, we knew there was a likelihood that the news from the FDA would come today and thought if it all worked out, the party might be more a celebration of this event, than the holiday season. We are having seven of his eight direct reports over (one declined), along with their spouses, and I imagine the mood will be quite exceptional. It will certainly be a night I remember and I’m just glad I am getting to have a little fun with my clothing choices. Hey, I even gave pooch a bath tonight for the big celebration tomorrow!

Wow, very pretty, teriwtt. You are going to look beautiful. Pretty expensive, though if I had something that was beautiful and lasted for years, it would be worth it. But knowing my luck, it would fall on the ground and one of my dogs would pee on it…

Have a great party! Very fortunate the FDA approval come through beforehand.

Congrats, Teriwtt! What an awesome day for your H and his team! It sounds like this party will be joyouse indeed! Glad your lovely top arrived in time!

Update: There were TWO fedex truck mishaps (one big and one VERY big) in my state this week- one Tues and one today. They credited my account $30 (which is a token) and are still doing a search on the other items (all in one box- and I spent several hundred dollars) and offered to ship anything if I found a suitable replacement overnight. Well, everything is either gone or wont be available for 1-3 weeks. Useless :(

Teri - so happy for your H and his team!

jym - how awful! That’s A LOT of packages:

<a href=“Video FedEx Truck Crash a Nightmare for Holiday Packages - ABC News”>http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/video/fedex-truck-crash-nightmare-holiday-packages-27610999</a></p>

Teri, that shirt is really nice. How tall r u?

jym, all your preparation for naught, sorry. Perhaps if you mentioned what gifts you got for staff & co-workers, the great shoppers on CC could offer replacement suggestions.

Thanks. I got them each this: https://www.arthurcourt.com/details.cfm?pattern=676&sort=def_a&ProdID=100710</a></p>

And here is the SECOND Fedex tractor trailer accident. http://www.ajc.com/news/news/i-85-southbound-in-barrow-county-closed/njXBM/</a> My package was apparently on one of these 2. They want to wait until Monday to confirm that its lost :(

Very nice!! There were so many lovely patterns.

Not quite as nice, but I bought several Simply Designz bowls at bloomies and Macy’s. For one person, I got the large bowl, with fluted sides, with lime green interior and the silver-tone outside. I also got the smaller bowl. I was to bring fruit salads, so both bowls were filled. (I’m delighted to say the hostess reuses these serving bowls for salads etc.) For the other hostess, I got a rectangular serving tray, on which I put desserts. The interior for that was the bronze.

@bookworm - I’m 5’5". The top hangs down appropriately enough to cover everything in the rear very generously.

I’m not sure why the packages would be considered lost. Unless the vehicle caught on fire, or looters swarmed the scene of the accident, they should be able to scoop those packages up, put them in another vehicle and get them to their destination. Of course, things that weren’t well packed could be destroyed. But then again, I couldn’t download the information about the accident, so I couldn’t see the pictures.

The 2 tractor trailers (one was a double length) were moving quickly when the accidents occurred, and one truck overturned. Seems many packages were destroyed, smooshed or run over by other cars. Heres an article about the first accident.http://www.ajc.com/news/news/fedex-truck-overturns-spills-packages-onto-i-75/njTTc/</a> with a photo

jym, that is a pretty dish. I looked all over, and it does not look like there is much stock left. I hope you will be able to get some other gift to replace what was lost.

Teri, I hope the party went well. Love the color of the top! I think you will get some good mileage out of it.

(Ordered a discounted top from Saks this morning, and the order is already “shipped” with a FedEx tracking number. Wow.)

Thanks, BB. No time to shop. I am currently about 2 hrs from home helping our local war veterans group hold a party for the residents of a large VA nursing home. So I will bring the office staff each a bottle of wine from our wine cellar. I hope that’s not against some rule.

As the official wine rule maker on this thread, I declare that is not against the rules. Unless, of course, it’s bad tasting wine.

That’s really nice of you to help the war veterans group hold a party. I’d like to do something like that, if I can ever get time around the holidays off.

"…a bottle of wine from our wine cellar."

jym - I approve.
