I think TPTB don’t really care how we feel about the changes. The majority of us are still here, even if we’re complaining about it. If we leave, there’ll likely be new parents who subscribe to the forum.

^^^ I’m not one to be negative, but at this point, weeks later, little change to better the changes, and as of late, little to no communication regarding anything, I believe you are correct Shell. And that, is what probably makes me the angriest!!

In the middle of another sleet/ice/snow event at my house and I’m convinced that the web hosting service is in cahoots with Mother Nature. They are both disappointments lately:(

I just want to thank whoever posted upthread about refreshing whenever you get logged out. I find myself logged out every time I switch from Parents forum to Cafe, refreshing or just going back a page is faster than logging in again, and navigating back to where I was. Ridiculous situation.

And being denied permission to see my own notifications or edit my own posts - beyond annoying.

Make a stand? Organizing a boycott is an interesting idea.

Ek and Thumper–yeah, early 2000’s. I wonder if we are the only ones left from that site? I remember being apprehensive of moving over to here, and then so quickly finding a home. Would like to keep it feeling like that!

I was on the other site & quite active actually, but with a different s/n.

One of the issues with the other site and its lack of moderation was cyber-stalking - there was a real fear there that divulging too much personal information could be quite dangerous. I don’t remember having too much of a problem with off-line stalking, but there were certain posters there who followed me from thread to thread, essentially hounding me and making it impossible to have any sort of real discussion. So it made sense for me to change my alias when I moved.

I checked www.parentcafe.com is not available, but we could take www, parentcafe.us (has a nice ring to it)

I was here a few times before 2005, because Northstsarmom invited me over - and mentioned the other site too. I knew her from AOL. I didn’t post much at either site then though because my kids were too young.

I see a big difference between complaining about features that are no longer present and having major technical issues that affect the customer experience. Some of the things that we want to have could take a lot of major programming and may not be feasible. But this log out problem and the weird error message you get when trying to post are major technical issues that should be fixed ASAP. I wonder if they even know?

I’m reading all this and realize I’m experiencing none of these problems–using Firefox on a PC. I see the “Guru Meditation Error” pop up but it doesn’t affect anything and I just carry on posting. Very weird.
