Forum Relaunch Feedback: Status Update

I don’t know/think the font is smaller when you open a thread - it’s when you’re looking at the latest posts list - or I imagine any other list. It’s much harder to actually scan the thread names with the new font as it’s smaller in the list format.

Love the new font, but agree with doschicos that it is now very hard to tell which page of the thread you are on. Thanks for working to improve CC!

I am able to replicate the issue and will check with the team if we can fix this so that the page one is on is more visible. I’ll keep you updated.

When I open a thread on my phone the title takes up the whole screen. The rest of the font looks normal.

^the title is indeed oversized. I like the darker font.

Still missing the search in thread magnifying glass at the bottom of the thread on phones. It exists in the desktop view.

The new font is better for sure. I can read it! It’s weird though that when you type and the listings on the right are still all in the old font.

@CCadmin_Sorin I want to thank the higher ups for actually listening to those of us who post here. On the previous thread, there was a very lengthy wish list…and really, many of those things have been addressed.

I think this is the third remake of this forum since I joined…and never before has anyone responded to and fixed things we have asked to have done.

So…thank you!!

Just noticed the font change. Thanks!

I also have that “what page am I on” issue. Bold page number would fix that.

@Ccadmin_Sorin, I agree with the others - you really can’t tell what page of a thread you’re own because the numbers all look the same.

I’ve been trying to stay positive and generally dealing with the changes, but all of a sudden I find I can’t tell which page I am on in the longer threads. The page number used to be bolded but since yesterday they all see to be the same.

@tkoparent, see my post #349. I flagged Sorin.

Numbering looks better now to me than it did yesterday. Current page is blue vs gray for others. Could still be a little sharper contrast, though.

I’m using Chrome on a PC - I cannot tell any difference in the numbering.

I was in a different room with different lighting when I saw a difference earlier this morning. Back in my normal spot, I’m finding it impossible to discern a difference in page numbers again. It should be much more obvious to be user friendly. Stop making us feel old.

If one’s on the last page of a thread, or close, you know it. If you click the next page number and it’s where you already were, not great, but ok.

But YES, when you’re reading Latest Posts or catching upon a long thread, and have NO idea where you are in the sequence, it’s nuts. Was I on page 11 or page 8?

So yes, we appreciate the font fix, now this vital navigation detail.

“If one’s on the last page of a thread, or close, you know it. If you click the next page number and it’s where you already were, not great, but ok.”

One shouldn’t have to go through this process/work around, though. Not user friendly at all! Just very clunky.

Something that has seemed to change. Used to be that when there were multiple pages in a thread that the page you were on was highlighted/darker and the ones you hadn’t read were lighter. Now there is no difference. When I go back to read previous pages, by time I finish the page and look at numbers I have no idea where I am. For example, if I realize I missed something and go back from current page 18 to page 14 when I get to bottom of page and look at page numbers I can’t tell where I am if I don’t remember. Is this just me?

@scmom12, no, it’s not just you. Look at several posts before yours in this thread and you will see similar comments.

Regarding the current page number - it’s odd. Sometimes, the numbers are dark gray, but the current page number is an almost-but-just barely-discernable dark blue. But other times, on the same device within the same session, I can see absolutely no difference.

On some forums, one way you can tell is that the current page is not “clickable” (since you’re already there). But I imagine that would be a bigger fix here than just fine-tuning the text color or boldness. Either one would be very helpful.
