^^interesting story, and it makes me miss Bronn. I hope he comes back.
But there are some inconsistencies. Would Jaime really set up his brother like that? I doubt it. And if he did, why would there be the need to overwork and overpay the woman later by making her lay with all of Tywin Lannister’s guards? That smacks of angry retribution on the part of his father.
Re the sea battle - It is was hard to follow! As far as I could tell,

Yara was taken hostage, Ellaria was taken hostage, two of the Sand Snakes were killed and I believe the third was taken hostage, and Theon jumped overboard and was left behind floating. A real disaster for Dorne.
The ending battle scene was brutal. Two of the three Dorne sisters were killed. Their mother was taken hostage . Theon jumped ship (literally) and abandoned his sister. She was alive at the end, but it ended with her uncle’s knife at her throat. Soooooo, this week, it seems, went to the bad guys.
Just found this thread. I’m not enjoying Sam’s scenes this season, except for the one where he is reading about all the dragon glass on Dragonstone. The main ones in both episodes are just… yuck! I have to say tonight’s episode was really intense.
I’ve been reading a few theories about the hero we’ve been waiting for, and I am drawn to the idea that the “prince that was promised” might be Jaime Lanister.
You can google “Game of Thrones Jaime’s arc towards heroism” or “Jaime is the prince that was promised” to find some lengthy articles about that particular theory.
I personally would like to see the Jon, Dany and Tyrion ruling as the three headed dragon, but I think we are fooling ourselves if we expect this all to have a happy ending.
A couple more things - it always seemed unbelievable that Euron could get 1000 ships so quickly from barren, mostly treeless islands. Even if they stole some good trees, that wood would have to be cured for months, etc. Adding to this - we’re supposed to believe that his improbable fleet just snuck up on Yara’s with no one noticing? Too much magical thinking for me.
And Jon, please talk to Sansa before you drop a bombshell in a large public gathering. She is your sister(cousin) and ally and you need to have her on board before all the shouting starts. And DON’T leave her behind with Littlefinger hanging around - the man just confessed his sick mother-daughter “love” to you. Let Sansa go to Dragonstone with Davos and negotiate a proper divorce from Tyrion along with everything else. Dany would be happy to grant it.
I’ve been reading possible future scenarios on-line and here’s my favorite: Cersei and Euron Greyjoy win out over Dany and her dragons (…and before you scream, I like this scenario because as it stands right now, Dany seems to be the favorite, and I don’t trust that.) Anyway, after Cersei and Euron win the throne, the White Walkers come down and annihilate them both.
I don’t know - I would love to see Cersei as a White Walker. Although I also like the idea of Jaime as the prince that was promised.
My son, who I watch the show with, says Nymeria has been breeding a wolf army. This appearance supports that. Whether the army will be deployed against lions (!) or white walkers, I am 100% sure she and her army will be back. That was one of my favorite scenes.
Also love Jon and Dany finding out about each other and look forward to their meeting, though PO’ed that it seems Arya will arrive at Winterfell while Jon is gone (unless they run into each other on the road or something)…but at least she’d reunite with Sansa. And Bran is at Castle Black now - will he go south? Or stay there to warg and help the fight at the wall?
Samwell’s dad is a jerk but he seems sort of honorable now, or at least loyal. Interested to see if he will switch his banner to Lannister as Jaime wants him to.
Jaime is not striking me as a good guy/hero right now, he seems to be squarely in Cersei’s corner.
I am not happy about Jon having to travel to Dragonstone. Very dangerous. Could Little Finger plan something nasty if he travels through Arryn territory? Euron if he goes by sea? This is not good.
The prince who was promised (Promise me, Ned. Promise me!) and the son who rises in the west are Jon.
