High School Class of 2020

Hey everyone! I’m taking the SAT December 1st and was wondering if I should by the SAT 2018 Prep or the 2019 one?

@SaraiM1 Personally I prefer working on Khan Academy. It’s an easily accessible source, and you get to practice while you learn. Between the 2018 and 2019 Prep, I’d say get the 2018 one since there’s shouldn’t be much difference, and the 2019 one is probably more expensive.

@ATHEOM lol, that sucks. I live in Idaho so about 1/4 of the kids who qualify in our state come from my school

Nvm I got a 31 with no practice. Guess it’s time to ramp it up to a goal of 34/35?

is anyone else taking AB Calc? thoughts?

@kanagawa I’m not taking AB but I am taking BC. I don’t think it’s terribly hard. I just hate that math is grade deflated at my school. For my math class last year a B- or above in pre-Calc pretty much meant an automatic 800 on the SAT Math II and kids with C’s we’re still scoring high 700s very easily. Same this year, the overwhelming majority of the class gets 5s but the average grade does not reflect that.

@ps1kd While I am not in BC Calc, I feel you on grade deflation. Excluding some classes, for the most part, the AP and Honors courses at my school have serious grade deflation.

Have a nice day.

1530 on November SAT and 34 on October ACT, both were my first times taking it. I’m ecstatic!!!

@moviestar505 Congrats! That’s awesome.

Have a nice day.

good job!!! how did u prep for it?

Good luck to everyone taking the December SAT tomorrow! I’m hoping for a 1570, and at least 21 on essay. I feel like I’m going to get an 18 on the essay though (I got a 20 last time without studying, and looking at the essay I wrote, I’m actually doubt I could write any better than that). Hopefully the curve is actually decent this time.

@ktong777 Thank you for the wishes! I took the Literature Subject test today. How was your SAT?

Have a nice day.

@excoverer how was the literature sat ii? any advice?

The test was very challenging, so I highly recommend you study. Barron’s and Princeton’s Review is pretty good, and the official book by College Board has one test for it. I don’t know if this applies for all of the Literature tests, but the one I took was far harder than the one in the College Board book and Princeton’s Review.

Have a nice day.

I think I got the score I wanted on my SAT (out of 1600), but I probably did really bad on the essay. I was completely burned out during the essay, and I kept forgetting what I was going to write. Also, I misunderstood the claim for half my essay. I’m guessing I’ll get a 16, possibly lower.

I came here to vent since I am pissed. I saw my PSAT score on naviance and I didn’t improve at all and my selection index only went up by one from last year. Being in my state there is no chance I get national merit. I even messed up on math which I in the history of my practice, I have never messed up but somehow on the most important test I screw up.

I just saw my PSAT score, and I didn’t make national merit. I’m super pissed because all the problems I got wrong in reading were command of evidence problems, so I got them wrong in pairs (for a grand total of 6 wrong). My writing score wasn’t too surprising (I was expected 2 wrong at most, but got 3 wrong). Oh well, I guess I’ll focus on other things (and hope for a good SAT score come Friday).

Hi I just joined! I’m in the class of 2020 as well :’)

Late but my current schedule:

AP Physics 1
AP Spanish 4
AP Lang

I found out about this site a while ago but was too lazy to make an account haha

@roseadagio Welcome to College Confidential!!

I know this might sound super annoying but I just got my ACT score back and I’m mad. I took 2 L’s in a row. First the PSAT, now this. I though I had the 36 locked up but I was one question away!!! Now I have to retake, and I have to actually prep this time.
