Agree that I very much dislike the Political threads interspersed with the regular Parent Cafe threads. There are only a few political threads of interest to me. But now I have to do tons of scrolling to get past the new ones which are often just a handful of people arguing with each other. That keeps sending their threads to the top since apparently they can keep it up 24-7.
Isn’t there any way to separate Politics?

I came here to post the same thing.
I stopped reading/ posting in the Political Forum a few months back. I have a lot of stress and anxiety over current events as well as events in my personal life and would prefer to not see these.

Are you all saying PF posts are appearing in the Cafe for those of us who haven’t signed up for the PF?
I agree, the PF should be one posters need to choose to access at any point in time. Those posts shouldn’t automatically appear for members, if they haven’t chosen the PF…and it sounds like that is the case.
I’m not a PF member, but if I was…this would make me ditch it entirely.

No. That should NOT be the case. The PF discussions are listed in the Parent Cafe listing only for those who opted into the PF. Please let me know if that’s not the case!
I did sign up for the PF but did not expect it to end up comingled with the regular Parent Cafe.

I see and I agree with @Marilyn.
@CC_Sorin there are plenty of folks who only want to see the posts on the PF when they feel seeing those posts. They aren’t interested in having this clutter up their regular Parent Cafe enjoyment.
Can this be fixed?

I would prefer not to see the categories (travel, food, etc) at the top of the thread. I prefer the parent cafe smorgasbord and finding new posts that interest me sometimes unexpectedly.

I have noticed a decrease in new posts in the cafe since the changes were made.

@FallGirl, the new layout was implemented just mid last week. Any reason why there would be less posts in the Cafe?
I think a lot of people are turned off by the new layout. As I said upthread, many of us are avoiding the politics forum but seeing the political threads mixed in with the other cafe threads is stressful.

Just to clarify, one can only see Political threads if they signed up for the PF. Otherwise, those threads do not show up. Moreover, I mentioned up thread that, based on the feedback received here, I will be working on a solution to have those not show up (even for those who signed up for the PF). Will get back with an update soon.

UPDATE: I implemented a solution so that political discussions do NOT show up in the Parent Cafe listing (even for those who have joined the Politics Forum). Hope this addresses the issue!
