<p>My Ipad keeps wanting to download 1500 e-mails.</p>
<p>It is annoying.</p>
<p>I have changed some settings. Obviously the wrong ones.</p>

<p>Do you mean that it takes a lot of time trying to download an excessive amount of emails? Not just - say - 25 at a time and then you have to request more?</p>

<p>For the longest time i couldn’t figure out the point of the ipad, but then people on here gave me some ideas of how to use it and now I drag it with me everywhere. I don’t know if that is good or not? ;)</p>

<p>Pitch the useless thing, it keeps away from enjoying the life…I cherish every disconnected moment of my life…</p>
<p>Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar > Show, and change the number to 50 (or however many you want).</p>

<p>I guess if you have never used one, you wouldn’t know it it is useless or not.</p>
<p>DStark - did you do the iOS 5.1 update that was released last week? Wondering if it might be a bug. If not, you might want to consider downloading it and maybe it will fix your problem.</p>
<p>I was notified to download the update but haven’t done it yet. I always seem to run into issues with iOS updates as well as android phone updates.</p>

<p>Some people use the web browser to access their email & get better control of it that way.</p>

<p>So a little off topic…I don’t have a problem with e-mails but I do have a problem with my iPad kicking me out of Safari when I am browsing. It is not any particular web site, and doesn’t seem to matter how long I’m on or even if the battery is low, etc. Anyone have a similar problem or any possible solutions? I did just update but it still has happened…</p>
<p>I got kicked off of Safari a lot this past weekend while on vacation and not using the home wi-fi. It was annoying. I did download the new update (I don’t like to do that because it sometimes causes a giant snafu) and I hope I won’t have any more troubles. Haven’t had time to check it out. </p>
<p>Cali_mom, is your drive on your iPad almost full? That was going to be my next thing to look at, if updating the software didn’t help…</p>
<p>If you double-click your home button on your homepage, you should get a row of all the open apps on the bottom of the screen. Press one until they flicker, and then they should all show the minus sign that allows you to close the app. Press the minus sign on each app to close it. A super nice guy at the Apple store told me to do this when I started having problems with Safari pages or apps shutting down and returning me to the homepage. Sometimes I discover that an app I used days or weeks before is still running in the background, slowing things down.</p>
<p>Don’t know if that will solve your problem but it has worked for my iPad and my H’s iPhone.</p>
<p>besides closing your apps, you can go to settings–> general–>reset–>–>reset network settings if you are having problems.</p>
