My son’s friend heard at 9:30 this am. Do we have any idea of the latest time of the day they would send a notification?
I’d say up to 9 pm est from what I recall here
Jef indicated that the “release” was manual from the AOs, so likely something close to “normal business hours.”
Yes but assume they all working overtime this week
very good point.
Got admitted today, in-state, did petition on 9/19 for Kelley, also accepted into the IU Groups Scholars program! Best of luck to everyone else.
Did you get the Kelley direct too? Stats please
My son was denied. I guess he’s one of the 15% I’m so sad for him.
At least now we know.
I’m so sorry, it really seems like an extra tough year. I hope he has other great choices.
My daughter is a direct admit to arts and sciences- can anyone explain the direct admit thing? It would seem like everyone is directly admitted somewhere
Don’t worry—he will end up at a great school meant for him!
Thank you so much. He had a tough freshman year (It was covid year and he didn’t do well with online learning). Then, at the beginning of his sophomore year, he had an injury that required surgery, so he missed quite a few days for that. He’s worked so hard junior and senior years, but I guess it wasn’t enough.
He’s still waiting to hear back from a couple other schools, but IU was one of his top 2.
Thank you! 🩷
He sounds like a resilient kid who gonna do very well in life and make you proud
I’m so sorry, I hope he lands somewhere he loves!
I knew I wasn’t going to meet Kelley DA, so that’s why I submitted my review request as early as possible(at least maybe give it a little advantage). 3.7 UW but have showed an increase in grades over the years in high school, I have dual credit classes through Ivy Tech since sophomore year, 1340 SAT, really worked on the prompts Kelley was asking…even if don’t get in Kelley I am still going to go through the standard admission pathway as Kelley is my #1.
Hopefully my D24 is on deck. She submitted her petition to Kelley on 9/20. Congrats!
Sorry to hear about IU decision. Your kid has demonstrated resilience and determination. He has tackled the situation head-on through hard work. You must be proud and do remind him that this is just a temporary setback. He will get many more opportunities and achieve success in whatever he puts his mind to. Wishing him the very best.
Thanks @jefrobertson for providing detailed inputs and advice on so many occasions. I am very thankful that you are part of this group and are helping me and so many others navigate IU admissions.
My son did not get into to his top school in 22. He was devastated. And it lead him exactly where he’s “supposed” to be. I know it sounds cliche’ and I assure you, my 18 yo rolled his eyes at me (at the time) when I said it was part of his journey, but he wholeheartedly agrees. Hang in there–it’s not an easy process to navigate!
