Yikes. I updated my iPhone and I’m ready to toss it in the trash. When I turn the phone on, there are now more steps to just get to my icon page. Plus, they screwed around with the order of my emails…
I’ve tried to fix the email string order…no dice.
And the log in crap…sheesh.
Who does Apple ask before they make these “upgrades”.
My phone was going to automatically install the update tonight. I just cancelled it because of your post. I think I’ll wait to see what others have to say. Thanks for the warning.
Don’t listen to him. I really like the new update. It’s a new skin. If you want, why don’t you go on youtube and search for ios 10. They will have plenty to say
Big Apple fan…but…after the last couple of bugger updates for the iPhone I now wait for several weeks…usually until the update which fixes the bugs in the last big update. Sigh.
Hmmm I waited a bit to update and it seemed like the bugs were worked out.
I’m not sure what you mean about steps to get to the icon page. I just have to get used to hitting the home button instead of swiping to open but then all the icons are there.
The emails can be filtered for unread first by clicking the icon in the bottom left.
I updated last night; it took a while but everything seems fine. It opens to the icon screen the same as before - I normally touched Home instead of swiping anyway.
Just starting to look at the changes. Tons in Photo; it wants to organize everything and identify people and make videos and more. Which is funny because I need to download photos to the computer and delete off the phone regularly to make space.
Also now the phone wants to help me go to bed on time; seems to be a lot of changes in Health.
And the keyboard touch sound is different. I think.
Also not happy. Deleted all of the ‘widgets’ and still need to double click to access security code page. Preferred swipe. And the keys now sound like popcorn popping. Why did they change that?
I haven’t updated yet, but unless they took away the option, you can just turn the sounds off. I did a long time ago so I wouldn’t even notice a change. (Plus, I always have it in vibrate mode and no sounds are made then either).
Thanks for the tip about the emails and order. Will do that tomorrow.
And yes…the text thing is different but that was not an issue. Just different.
@alwaysstandup maybe the difference between us is that you are a HS student, and I’m a parent…and frankly…I’m getting tired of all of these updates! Not sure how they improve the function. Actually not sure they DO I orovoce the function.
I’ll adapt…but that doesn’t mean I have to like it!
I hated the email grouping that resulted from this update. I learned that you can turn it off. Go to Settings - Mail - then turn off “Organize by Thread” under Threading.
Husband and son updated. Neither is excited - son’s home button wasn’t too great - he added something to his screen.
Husband doubts I’ll be happy, I’m holding off.
I really dislike it! I hit the home button and then have an extra screen to go through before I can get where I want. Not sure why Apple does these things…
No change to my email but, once I’m in a text, the back arrow has become less sensitive and I have to hit it about 5 times before I can get back to the main message page where all my texts are listed.
