Every once in a while when I post a “:”, I get a dropdown menu with smileys. I’ve never noticed it before today and my computer doesn’t like it when it pops up. Is there way to disable that? I’ve never seen that on a website before.

When I pick them, they don’t work anyway… they insert something like 
, but the actual smiley face doesn’t show up. And don’t get me started on the little menu of faces on the upper right of the typing box. I can’t see the text behind them, and the faces are so tiny I can’t tell what they are anyway. Wish they would just go away…
Along that same line, I used to be able to create smilies, etc. on PMs using the keyboard, e.g. 
or 
but now they stay as punctuation marks. Have these been disabled?
Edit: the smilies showed up here! But not on PMs…hmmm…
I hadn’t noticed this pop-up menu before either, though that could just be due to never having typed a colon before. I’ll see if we can disable this menu since it doesn’t work anyway.
As for the tiny emoticon menu at the top right, it is rather annoying that you can’t see the letters beneath it. That was mentioned a while back, though I don’t have a specific status on it.
Another issue. At the end of the first line I often get the smilies choices when I’m trying to start a new sentence, I can’t figure out my last typed letter etc. So annoying to be unable to correct without getting a smiley instead.
