I had a bit of a follow-up conversation this past week with someone from the foundation. They still anticipate the announcement to happen mid-April. My best bet is that scholars will begin hearing sometime next week and the official announcement will go out the week of April 13. This could just be wishful thinking, though, I am so nervous to hear anything!

I emailed them an update to my application last night because I was significantly recognized by my school for the work I’ve been doing since the Corona shutdowns. This is the answer that I received.
“We have included your update in your application portfolio. However, we do not guarantee that any updated materials will be given equal weight to materials submitted before the original application deadline as a significant portion of our review process has already taken place.”
So, it looks like they’re still working on applications. Good luck everyone! Fingers crossed!
So did you guys update your profile if you got like All-state, All-USA, etc?

I got All-State Team & Gold Coca-Cola Academic Team, but I didn’t know if you had update it on the common app. I did mention it on the interview in March that I was at the time All-State Academic Team and which Universities I applied and have been accepted into it
So the latest publication from the foundation was on March 27th, and interestingly they mention the “Cooke Chronicle” (its like articles published so often) will return on April 17th, on a Friday. So, I believe they wouldn’t announce the high school scholars and then start back up the Cooke Chronicles the same day. So, I believe the list for HS will be either a Tuesday (April 14th) or Wednesday (15th). And we would be April (22nd or 23rd). Man I love guessing and formulating theories on the press release lol.

@DasaniH20 Nice, congrats! I got gold Coca-Cola and all-state as well. I am crossing my fingers that we will find out soon. I was doing so well trying to focus on other things, and then the COVID-19 lockdown happened and that makes it difficult to focus on anything else!
To fuel the fire of speculation, would April 22 or 23rd count as mid-April? I guess it’s somewhat subjective, but my understanding of mid-month is after the 10th and before the 20th.

So on the press release from 2019 and 2020 scholars, it says April. However in our emails it says mid-April. in 2019 the semifinalist were announce Jan 22nd and we were announced Jan 23rd. In 2019, scholars were announced the 24th of April. So, colleges will be notified sometime next week (mid-april) and surprise their scholars.
“The Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship recipients will be announced in April. Each selected scholar will be provided generous financial support for up to three years, college planning services, ongoing advising, and the opportunity to connect with a thriving community of fellow Cooke Scholars.”
Honestly, it isn’t over until that press release lol
@DasaniH20 I guess we should just sit back and see! I wonder if they will even notify schools first since the lockdown has made accessibility to school difficult if even possible for most of us. They may just choose to call the scholars directly with the news.
Let’s all just sit back and take a deep breath over it. I don’t think anyone can perfectly predict the dates.

@Philippekaa It’s like every morning I check to see their announcement page, then their twitter page, and then this to see if anyone has any update lol. Every single day for the past 2 weeks lol
Everyone stressing, have you tried Yoga? It has really helped me be mindful and relax with this all being up in the air. I had a studio in town that I regularly attended before lockdown, but I found Power Yoga by Candace on YouTube to be a suitable substitute. It doesn’t have to be yoga, but I implore everyone to find a coping skill that helps soothe the stress.
It’s ok to relax. It’s ok to find ways to calm your mind down. There’s nothing that we can say or do to manipulate the decision. Your mental health is actually probably more valuable than any scholarship. Self-care is so important so let’s not stress ourselves out about this!
Guys, no need to stress. The more you stress, the more you are going to worry about it and the past is the past.
I would hate for anyone to be devastated for worrying about something that is so important to them and doesnt get it. Just rememeber that your life isnt this scholarship and that you all have a bright future ahead of you, regardless of a scholarship or not!
