I do not think the latest contact was indicative of anything. The questions they asked were for confirmation of things put in the essays. If you didn’t include anything questionable I don’t think you would have been contacted. Rough and tumble life here!
I also did not update the JCKF on any awards, activity, or honors since my application. I believe because the process is so comprehensive and competitive they don’t really consider anything after the deadline. This makes it fair across the spectrum for all applicants. They also aren’t looking to see who else has recognized your efforts. The JCKF approaches this process in a holistic method where a student working a full time job with children and going to school has the same chance as an honor student with a dozen awards.
We are all still in the running and many colleges will be making their decisions on us before the finalists are announced. We all have an equal footing and things will work out.

When I see my application I can’t even understand how I got to be semi finalist, I believe my transfer essays are better, but what I learned from being a literature and science guy is that nothing is ready in life haha

I can volunteer, I can start working on it today and get all the information (Data) that last year did and maybe change a couple things to fit our year. I do love numbers lmao

Hi all! @DasaniH20 and I have just created a survey that we think will comprehensively answer questions for future semifinalists. @iggywiggly Yay that’s great! I think it’d be helpful to also include the “major” dates of when important emails were sent with the final results of the survey. It honestly wasn’t easy to look through last year’s thread to figure out when additional documents were requested or interview emails were sent out.

@ml94ml I think that’s a good idea, but due to the unpredictability of emails from the foundation it would be hard to get dates. Perhaps I could add a general timeline?

I am in state. I applied for Biology (BA) because I am so done with chemistry. BS requires analytical chem and no one likes anal chem haha.
