LOST (the tv series) anyone?

We just had the “who is the girl in the bed” discussion here. No firm conclusions were drawn.

WEST COAST SPOILER ALERTS-- 3 hours earlier here on the east cost…

I’m losing my mind-- who had braids? The bossy girl with the rifle, who brought Faraday to the bomb??

Am wondering perhaps if that bossy girl (braids or not-- I thought her hair looked short and wavy) might be Faraday’s own mother. Remember he looked at her funny, and said “you look familiar…” ??
And if she’s his mother, then could the young, angry and equally bossy Charles Widmore be his father? Just a wild guess. Wacky, though, because then Penny would be his sister, or half-sister.

I’m guessing that the woman in the coma is perhaps someone he was in love with. A fellow scientist, perhaps, and that his experiment with time travel damaged her somehow. Maybe the machines that Widmore has her hooked up to to keep her alive are actually studying what’s going on in her brain ** while she time travels*??

oops - just read eddieodessa’s post-- I think your daughter and I have the same idea.

Girl in braids name was Ellie…maybe Eloise Hawkings…maybe Faraday’s mom? I think Mrs. Haekings is his mom!!!

NorthMinn–
Please refresh my memory–
who is/was Eloise Hawkings?

Eloise Halkings was the woman from last week who Ben was talking to. She is also the lady who refused to sell Desmond a wedding ring and told him his destiny was the island.

The girl on the island was called Ellie. I’m still trying to wrap my head around Widmore being on the island and maybe being Daniel’ dad. I love this damn show.

Here is a link to a site called Lostpedia. It has background and analysis of pretty much everything you will want to know about lost including all the viral campaign info.

The bossy girl who brought Faraday to the bomb: I think she’s either Faraday’s mother or Penny’s mother. We know Faraday has had previous dealings with Whitmore, so it’s inconceivable that he knows his wife. I’d say it’s more likely to be his mother, but it seems a little too Back to The Future.

This season has been awesome so far. 1st season was great, 2 and 3 kind of lost steam, then the 4th and 5th have been great.

For a show with so much supernatural stuff, it has such an element of realism. The people are real, diverse (and not in the forced way so many shows are), and layered. I almost lost faith in the 2nd and 3rd season, but I’m glad I stuck with it. I think we’re finally getting some answers.

Huh, I thought the girl in the bed was the girl with the long red hair that Daniel was so concerned about…whose nose started bleeding and such. Sorry, I don’t remember her name. Those were the same symptoms that people on the boat had with the time travel thing going on around them, correct? And I agree it seems that Whitmore had provided all the equipment to study her while she was time traveling. Remember her sister said “she is not here right now”…as if she goes in and out of being in the “present”.

Thank you for clearing up Eloise Hawking for me. I seem to have no short-term memory! It’s the second time I’ve forgotten her name-- I just have her pegged in my head as “the gray-haired lady.”

“Widmore? Charles Widmore? Nice to meet you.”

Yesterday’s episode had incredible pay-off at the end. The ID of the young Widmore and Desmond’s confrontation with old Widmore were both great.
I love watching Sawyer and Juliet together – they make a great team, complementary opposites and all that.

Yesterday, was a great episode. Faraday has been a great addition to the show.

The payoff at the end was great.

I also like Sawyer and Juliet together.

LOST is a fantastic show.

Great ending. We all went, “Ooooooh” at our house.

ok.forgive crappy typing…just had shoulder surgery…anyway…did anyone else notice that widmore in 1954 was wearing fatigues that said ‘jones’ on the name? not widmore?? mistake? or more mystery?

also, we thought that girl w braids was either Faraday’s mom or possibly Penny’s? Girl in bed; no idea…

Girl in the bed…named Theresa, perhaps Boone’s nanny named Theresa??? Remember " Theresa falls up the stairs, Theresa falls down the stairs"??? Her brain apparently is time traveling according to her sister’s explanation about being present or not.

Cool to see the painting in Widmore’s office again with the polar bear and Namaste written across it! I just love looking for clues!
Fatigues were from American soldiers that were killed. Not sure if Jones is a hidden meaning.

As in Jim “drink the Kool Aid” Jones?

Actually, I read somewhere today that the bomb was named “Jughead” (as was the episode), and in the Archie comics, Jughead’s last name was Jones.

NorthMinn–YOU REMEMBER BOONE’S NANNY???

Oops-I got so excited I pressed send too soon. I didn’t remember that Boone had a nanny, but apparently he did. Can’t wait for the next show!

I tried something different last night to try to better understand who is who and why. We watched the new show first and then back and watched the repeat with sub titles of last weeks show. It actually made better sense to us. And it helped me remember that the gray haired lady was the one who would not sell Desmond the ring.
I am leaning towards the girl in the bed being Penny’s mother.
